The Steelers were the team that impressed me the most yesterday.  Their defense (it feels like the Steelers ALWAYS have an incredible defense) absolutely shut down the Texans, the running game was great and Big Ben was impeccable.  I see very, VERY good things for the Steelers this year.

Looks like Bellichek is now questioning the legality of Pollard's hit. Like this guy should be pointing fingers?

^  Yea, the whole spygate thing has honestly IMO  just f*cked him royally.
Even if it wasn't to the degree we though, even IF the spygate thing gave them no help forever, ALOT of people will always think their 3 super bowls/all their recent success is a fraud.
And when Bellichek wants to question the legality of something...well it does make you do a double take now.

On other notes, SO far Favre and Rodgers have been doing well on their respective teams. As I called it.
I wish some "experts" would realize its about the TEAM and not just the QB

I think Rodgers has looked pretty good so far. I don't think I agree with them running the clock down to 3 seconds for a field goal (which was blocked) rather than going for the end zone one more time before the half.

Rodgers has looked excellent.  He's really pulled a couple of clever improv moves, like that touchdown pass he squeezed in there, and he must have already scrambled for 40 yards.  He really is doing a lot of Favre-like things here.

Minnesota would have been REAL competitive in that game if they'd used Peterson.  He ran it 19 times for 103 yards--over 5 a carry!  There's no reason to let Tarvaris Jackson, IMO the worst starting QB in the league, throw 19 incompletes and a pick when you've got that kind of ground game.

As good as the first game was, this Denver/Oakland game is brutal. I'm going to bed.

^ My team sucksOuch
Of course the Refs did them no favors but that isn't the issue.  The defense is terrible.

Garion, we'll have to get nice and comfy at the bottom of the AFC West. Lunch is on me. LOL

Actually one team has to win next week they play each other. LOL

This is going to be a long season again.  On more positive note I think Jamarcus Russell will be a good to great QB one day and I love Darren McFadden. They just need a couple good lineman and one wide out. The defense in another story.  AL Davis spent a lot of money on Corner Back Deangelo Hall and what did he get his first game?  Two personal fouls, a pass interference and two TDs on him. The Raiders had no pass rush and did the linebackers even show up?  The only guy on defense that did anything was Nnamdi Asomugha. I am hoping it was just because they have so many new players on that side of the ball that last night  was an aberration but I think that is just wishful thinking.
Remember Lane Kiffin wanted to fire the defensive coordinator Rob Ryan after last season and Al Davis stopped him.  Which really means no one is running this team on a daily basis and Kiffin is nothing but an overglorified offensive coordinator.  Until AL passes on I think I better get used to this. Ouch

Giants beat the Rams 41-13!

Typical G-men:
The defense was tough, (and got 6 sacks)
The running game was great
And Eli was more than solid: 20-29: 260 yards 3 TD and 0 INT

Any question who the worst team in the AFC West (or NFL, for that matter) is now? Good gravy, what a train wreck.

I'd say let's tank 'em all and pick first in next year's draft, but not sure if we could trust the front office enough to do that. Sad is an understatement.

thoughts:

San Diego got fracking hosed today.
It was nice to see the Pats were able to win.
Indy squeaked one out but they're really looking shaky.

E, as much as I'd like to award the Chiefs with the "Worst Team" award, the Rams are putting up stiff competition in that area.

Who's looking the best in the AFC right now?  Have to give it to Pittsburgh I think.

The hero today??????? Mike Shanahan!!!Thumbs%20UpThumbs%20UpThumbs%20Up
who else would have the guts to call for 2 point conversion at the end of thegame and win 39-38.....

................and 30 other coaches would have gone for a tying point conversion

Sure he could have turned into Zero, but that's act like this one that make a ''hero''!

The Broncos didn't beat the Chargers, the guys with the whistles did.  They called a bullsh*t turnover against the Chargers, and couldn't overturn it because the replay equipment didn't work, and then they called an incomplete pass on what the man who called it even ADMITTED was a fumble, but was non-reviewable.  Total bullsh*t victory for Denver.

Totally agreed..!!..........but that doesn't discount the guts of Shanahan when the game was on the lineWink to go for 2 when he could have played it safe...That's this moment of the game i am talking about when he decides this play!
