^ Solar Fire is one of my favourite prog albums, Not only Mann's performance is great but also guitarist Mick Rogers is brilliant! They were supposed to perform here two weeks ago but canceled at the last minute

Man with hat - bear with me on this.Im a long time Frank Zappa fan , and unfortunately saw him throne off stage in London (yes that gig) and I have an issue with his live material.
Firstly , there is so much of it out there now its hard to distinguish between good and bad , and secondly
due to the technical aspect of his compositions from Hot Rats , Jazz from hell , black page etc I feel the best way of analysing his material is by studio material
For me the best live song is the Torture never stops with the Captain on vocals from YCDT 4 or cheap thrills

That's too bad.....I'm sure that would have been a cool show.
I'm rediscovering his early work....those 2 Chapter lll albums are really nice as well as Solar Fire and the other early ones before that.

Solar Fire is an excellent album. just listen to the beginning of Earth, the Circle.

Mind, I think his best album was Somewhere in Afrika. That is an awsome album
