Friggin Brett Favre.............

Instead of trying to further develop a young QB a team signs an aging gunslinger who throws more picks than anyone.

What is wrong with these teams(Jets & Vikes)?I just don't understand the thought process there.

So......id ANYONE surprised?
(And if you were say HELL NO! Because you're a fool) LOL

WOW! Brett came back. Sounds like he just wanted to avoid training camp.
OH MY GOD! I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS!!!!

Seriously, this guy is destroying his rep.
He was almost universally thought of as, "One of the greatest QBs ever"
Now he's on the greatest QB's ever....but he is also a prima donna, cry baby and honestly....a bit of a tool.
And if he starts off hot and crashes like last season, he will also be thought of as an old guy that didn't quite know it was time to call it quits

Even better!
Apparently Favre is a little confused at the outrage in Green Bay and said, "A TRUE packer fan would understand"

OuchAngry
WOW! I can totally see why he's upset. I mean he only went to a hated rival for the sole reason of sticking it to the Packers, (he wont say it but cmon....). IF the packers end up losing the division to the Vikings and Favre is a large reason for it...well I'd be willing to take those 16 years and say F*CK YOU

Glad my team is not in such a mess

MMmmmm wonderful.
Anyway, we shall see....

the Vikings have been on the verge...they got a tough defense (and their D-Line is not right!) not to mention that Massive O-line (football is built around the lines after all) and Adrian Peterson.
Their receivers are not great, but well enough...
All the needed was a QB. Question is will Brett hold up?

Also, forget that rocket arm Jay Cutler is now on the bears. They also have a tough D and run game......
NFC North might be kinda tough this season

The guy said in regards to any Packer fans being critical of him now, "If you are a true Packer fan, you would understand."

The guy is a US Grade A Rectum Head. He's doing this just to stick to to Ted Thompson and the Packers. Plain and simple. Their game at Lambeau Field wild most certainly be televised. I REALLY want to watch that.

Feeling a LITTLE better about the Giants now.
They drafted 2 big receivers, (one is 6'6" I believe) and that one in fact has supposedly been impressive.
This is only training camp/pre season but still, hopefully they will step up.

I was saying that missing Plax would not be a big deal....but deep down I know with him gone the offense is severely lacking.

It's a brilliant move on the Vikings part.  First off, they take a relatively unexcited public to the brink of ticket buying frenzy instantly....trust me, the town went from "meh" to being psyched overnight.  They sold a sh*tload of tickets.  If he does well, they also just made the ultimate play in their ploy to get a new publicly funded stadium in Mpls.  It was unlikely before, and Wilf's threats to move the team were just blown off by the public.  Now, he may have made huge strides in shaking down the public coffers, in acquiring that corporate welfare he so desires.

Besides all that, the guy wants to play for this team, which he knows better than anyone.  If he stays healthy he could be successful here.

So how could the Vikings say no?  They have a lot to gain, not that much to lose.  If Farve crashes, they've only postponed their "rebuilding" one year.

No doubt it's a good move for them .
We all know the attention it will draw, (and with that ticket/jersey/merchandise sales) but I'm thinking what Jody, and others are getting at is why they would take him knowing he now has a tendency to fade down the road, and of course have to deal with these retiring/not retiring and training camp drama.

But as you said, if he flops well...no big deal. Like I mentioned, the Vikings are a TOUGH team. I they got a good QB in place some things could really happen.

Look at Vick. Why on Earth would a team take a QB who was already not a good passer, has been out of the sport for 2 years (and most of that time in Prison) ????
No risk, good reward. (Sure you have to deal with the media and some fan flak, but IF Vick does good we know that'll be quieted)

Favre with RB Peterson is a deadly combination.

Of course those are the big names......the ones that put butts in the seats but we all know it is won/lost with those fat guys.
The Vikings have a huge O-Line and are great blockers. There D-Line should be illegal. Not to mention they have some tough defense behind it...
Throw in AP, and now Favre. Like I said, if he can stay solid through the whole year they could be quite a threat

Yeah, and even if he does fade, let's assume he does great for 3/4 of the season and gets hurt.  By that time, the public is on board and will be completely jazzed to get behind the back-up QB.  They get the good benefits of morale whether Favre makes the post season or not.

And actually, I kinda doubt he will.  He's only a bit younger than I am, so I know what 40s do to a body, athlete or not.

Who's your back up though?
Tavaris Jackson?

Although I actually kind of like him...he seemed to be improving, needs more time though, most scramblers have a tough time adjusting.

And Favre's toughness might be a problem. If he gets a major injury...then yeah he's done but if he just has some soreness/pain he'll play through it. THAT is when things go bad.

With the Jets:
First 12 games 20 TDs, 14 INT. Not bad
Last 4  only 2 TD's and 8 INT's. If he gets hurt and plays through it like he always does....monumental collapse ensues

But Vick is something McNabb isn't,a great scrambling QB.That justs adds another dimension to their offense.Remember, the guy is the only QB to ever rush for over 1,000 yards in a season.

Oh I was just saying, I think its comparable to Favre (if not more) on the WTF? Factor.
Damn wildcat.... AND on that note, I kind of hope that fad dies out.
It was explosive for one game. It was decent for the next. Since then it has not worked for any team, and not really for the Phins either.
The NFL is too fast, smart, and just too good to fall for such trickery. I hope the wildcat is stopped painfully this year so we can forget about it...

Unless you got a beastly O-Line and an honest to go dual threat QB/RB. And if that was the case you'd have no need. The wildcat should be a once in a blue moon wrinkle play for bad teams...

Really is a shame for them. I mean those last 4 games are going to be just awful WinkLOL

On other news, it's finally over. The Plaxico drama. He has been sentenced to 2 years in prison.
Can't say I'm that upset. He may have been a beast, but I never liked him. ALWAYS skipping practice, seemed he was getting fined for something all the time, really not an in ideal football player (not to mention his constant injuries) but guess I couldn't complain. He produced.

I have faith in the Giants draft picks (they ALWAYS turn out to be winners) so to Plaxico I say the same thing I did about Tiki Barber and Jeremy Shockey. GOOD RIDDANCE!
