Maybe Danica won't suck in NASCAR lol
OK, perhaps unfair...she was really just down the middle in Indy, but quite over hyped considering the worlds of attention she got.

Testing starts again tomorrow at Barcelona, we're starting to get into the busuiness end of things now.

Interestingly, Sutil will be testing for Force India, though it's not confirmed whether he or Bianchi will be the second driver for this year.

I'm jacked for the start of F1.  Just too bad Petrov won't have a ride this year.  He's more talented than quite a few of the drivers in the lineup this year, but unfortunately, he didn't have the sponsorship to back him.

Hopefully a good sign with sutil. Indeed about Petrov. Went the wrong way too quickly. And yay F1. What is the date of race one?

^March 17th. To be honest I was never that impressed with Petrov, good but not great, Kovalainen is certainly a bigger loss.

New Williams gets launched tomorrow as well.

Marked. And I would have liked to see him get more of a chance. And oh yeah. Kovy is a big loss. No doubt.

I think I like the Williams car least of all.

It says on the f1 website that one of the races is TBA. Whats the story behind that? What are the options? (I assume its the european gp as its unlisted atm)

That was the New Jersey GP (Valencia doesn't have a race this year, it and Barcelona will now start alternating to hold the Spanish GP). The extra slot was kept as TBA with all sorts of tracks mentioned over Christmas to host a race (Turkey, Paul Ricard and Magny Cours in France, Red Bull Ring in Austria (used to be called A-1 Ring) and Arigon in Portugal are the ones I can remember) but nothing came of it.

I meant to start this thread yesterday with the conclusion of the 24 at Daytona but somehow forgot.

Ahh...yes. I actually forgot about the NJGP Embarrassed but I'm glad Barce will be rotated. Probably my least favorite track. So, this weekend probably won't happen then?

I'm surprised it's on the website still, Bernie said there will be only 19 races this year a few weeks ago, nobodies got the time or money now to sort out a GP at such short notice.

More importantly, if testing has been reliable then we could be in for a great season as Lotus, McLaren, Red Bull and Ferrari are all looking very closely matched.

That's what I figured. And I agree...strange its still there. This is why I use you for my F1 news.

And great. Good to see Lotus up there with the big boys.

I never realistically expected the NJGP to happen, and every time another thumbs up for it was given I shrugged it off.
Maybe maybe I started to feel slight hope and that was when it was taken awayLOL
I knew the whole time! Shame, looked like a sweet track and it'd be surreal having a race 45 mins from me.

And we know how much $$ it brings in, not that it'd be a life saver (especially for how financially f**ked up NJ is) but would be something.
Yeah, I liked Petrov at first but in the end...I'm not terrible impressed either. Not that he was bad but my original assumption was incorrect.

Yes, curious to see how Lotus fares! As well as Mercedes. Really faded in the second half of '12 and how can we not be intrigued at Lewis' new ride?

A bit of good news out of Daytona after today's scary as hell crash.  Of all the injuries that were reported, 2 were critical, but now ALL have been stabilized with non-life threatening injuries.  Thank goodness for that.  That crash was freaking insane.

^ Thanks for the update. Was wondering about that...though I assumed the internet would be abuzz if one of the spectators was killed. Good to hear. Hopefully they finish the catch fence quickly.

I heard that NASCAR is going to re-seat those that were supposed to sit in that area for tomorrow's race, and I'm guessing because that particular portion of the fence is partially weakened.  Just a guess, though.
