Yeah, who wants a 3-4 anyway? Not like you can win any Super Bowl's with those
Get with the times man; it's all about LBs, not those tubs of lard up front
By the way, about the name "Tampa Two":
“My philosophy is really out of the 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers playbook,” said Tony Dungy during media interviews while at Super Bowl XLI. “That is why I have to laugh when I hear 'Tampa 2'. Chuck Noll and Bud Carson — that is where it came from, I changed very little.”

Yeah I know...I read that on Wiki And I guess there's no real difference in effectiveness between 4-3 and 3-4 but 4-3 makes so much more sense to me. Besides your Steelers D-line are tubs of lard. The Giants' is quite athletic, AND big. In a 3-4 they just take up space, which is good for letting the LB's attack...but the 4-3 is so much more disruptive. Look at 2007, NO ONE could stop the patriots (and I dont mean outscoring...actually stopping them). There is just no way to cover all those receivers, and get pressure on Brady or vice versa...he could sit back and throw short passes and out of 5 recievers one is bound to be open. But with the Giants amazing D-Line they could go into the Dime and cover all those receivers yet still bring pressure with only 4. When you do throw in an LB blitz with such a D-line..well it was devestating. Maybe I need to get with the times...but I like my defense to be built on the D-Line. EDIT: OR you could go with the Ravens original 4-3 style. 2 REALLY huge D-Tackles that hog most of the line so the DE's have cleaner shots at the QB and of course that frees up the LB's. THAT'S how I would run my team.

Well watching the game, the bucs were in a 4-3 most of the day, corners were more in press coverage and the moved Jermaine Phillips to the the 4th Linebacker in certain situations, so not a true 3-4 yet.. They don't have the size up front or the LB's to be like most 3-4's ...
Feel a little bit better about the upcoming season, might get to a game or two this season.

Nah, and like I said no real "better" defense, I just prefer the 4-3 And to be fair the 70's Steelers, 80's Bears, 2000 Ravens, and 2007 Giants (which shut down the greatest offense in NFL history) ALL 4-3 I'm curious about Vince Young. Anyone know what his status is for this season? I figured he would struggle adjusting to the NFL....but damn! Gotta feel for the guy a little bit, he went from being on top of the WORLD in college, single handily winning one of the greatest title games ever, a true god in Texas...and REALLY struggled in the pros, not just physically but mentally. His stats were bad, and he got replaced by old timer Kerry Collins. Not to mention the team went on perfectly fine without Young... Talk about a rough start. OH! And your Bucs should at least have a good running game. You guys snagged Derrick Ward from the G-men

Underwhelmed by the Chiefs play tonight, but I wasn't expecting much. Rained here in Kansas City, which made for sloppy play on the field. Defense didn't look too bad, but we still have ways to go. As for Cassell, he threw some good balls, with some being dropped by our receivers. TE dropped a 3rd down conversion that Gonzales would've caught. We're going to miss Tony, I'm afraid.
Still, Cassell looked a hell of a lot better than Orton.

I was pleased with the 23-0 win against the Skins in the Ravens first pre-season game. With Rex Ryan,Bart Scott and Jim Leonhard leaving there are questions if our defense will be as good as before, and I think the D did a great job.

^^^ on my Madden, the Bucs always have Reed and Ray Lewis Love Reed as much as I love Dawkins, they both are welcome to come to Tampa.

Yeah I feel for him.. The look in his eye reminds me of Randall Cunningham at times. When you saw that look you just knew the Eagles were going to lose.
And I'm very happy with RB Ward Every falling star I see btw I'm wising for a WR or two.

Well now people don't get TOO excited/down. It is only pre season. It's good to test out draft picks/backups but really you never can even tell how hard anyone is going.
And yes, Ward was a beast. Well actually he spent like 3 years on the team just injured, but when he finally was used...damn! Quick and strong. Twas a good RB. Seems to have a bit of trouble staying healthy though.

It is only pre season...but I think the Giants defense is going to be even more beastly!
They literally have 8 linemen, all great pass rushers. They can rotate them/stick them anywhere. Not to mention their crazy, Jim Johnson-esque blitzes. Crazy
