Björn J:Son Lindh, Kebnekaise, Älgarnas Trädgård, Ramlösa Kvällar, Samla Mammas Manna and Ragnarok are all faves of mine, but I never see them mentioned over the forum, maybe except for SMM.
Well let me add some more wonderful Swedish acts (and albums) to the mix:

Archimedes Badkar - ll
Kraldjursanstalten - Voodoo Boogie
Fläsket Brinner - Live Stockholm
Nya Ljudbolaget - s/t
Myrbein - Myrornas Krig
Anna Själv Tredie - Tussilago Fanfara
Dungen - 4
Taste Of Blues - Schizophrenia
Grovjobb - Vättarnas Fest
Kornet - Fritt Fall
Kultivator - Barndomens Stigar
Arbete & Fritid - s/t
Barrett Elmore - Woodlands
My Brother The Wind - I Wash My Soul In The Stream Of Infinity
Ensemble Nimbus - Garmonbozia
Fire! Orchestra - Enter
Goat - World Music
Ragnar Grippe - Sand
Hansson & Karlsson - Rex
In the Labyrinth - Dryad
International Harvester - Sov Gott Rose-Marie
Life - s/t
Eric Malmberg - Verklighet & Beat
Necromonkey - A Glimpse Of Possible Endings
Joakim Skogsberg - Jola Rota

Thank you so much for the list of great artists, still need more time to explore them all, the only swedish band i knew so far was MADE IN SWEDEN

Has no one mentioned my favorite band from Sweden?  SEVENTH WONDER is currently working on their  soon to be released (at least we hope for 2017) fifth studio album.  Last year the dvd/cd "Welcome to Atlanta 2014; Welcome to Mercy Falls" was released, which included their first day at ProgPowerUSA performing the entire Mercy Falls album plus a second appearance the next day which closed with an amazing acoustic medley sung by all five musicians.  https://youtu.be/TANcV7StP3s

^ yep I've listened to them a bit on Amazon Prime. Good band.

For me Par Lindh Project is the best band to come from Sweden. Not a fan of The Flower Kings apart from maybe the last couple.
I like recent Opeth albums and also starting to enjoy Katatonia as well. That's probably about it really.

I have just started following Pain of Salvation, but I understand their new album will be their last.  Too bad.

That'd be a bummer, they were never my favorite but I like all of their albums. One can only hope that Daniel will do some even better stuff going forward! He's on my favorite Flower Kings Song - The Truth Will Set You Free. I also think he's a perfect 5th member for Transatlantic with all of his talents. Would love to see him do some other collaborations.
