Stupid refs really took over that game. A few of the penalties were warranted, but the guy running through the holder and the roughing the passer penalties were BS.
Still, hell of a Super Bowl. Especially the last 3 minutes.

Damn right, a couple of those calls were completely unwarranted. Great Super bowl, even though the Steelers won.

oh, and the only bad calls were the running into the holder and the holding call in the end zone: the ump had a terrible view, the ball was already down the field and caught when he trew the flag (let them play), and the defenders forward momentum took him to the ground
and the seahawks didnt get jobbed years ago, they werent a very good team
if anything the call that should stand out in that game was a clear Jeremy Steven fumble called an incomplete pass (probs because of his history of not being able to catch)

What was the final score please?
I watched most of the first half on the BBC but frankly got really bored with the lack of action. Half an hour of timed play took over an hour to actually play and I just got fed up of all the constant interruption. I've nothing against the game itself but, I hope you will understand, as someone brought up on the constant high fever pitch excitement of a five day test match the SuperBowl just got too slow.

The best thing to happen last weekend came when they finally voted Bullet Bob Hayes into the Hall of Fame. He should have been in there years ago, especially when he was still with us. Better late than never, though. The man changed the game. Zone defenses hardly existed until he came into the league but once they realized that he couldn't be covered man-on-man every team had to rethink their defense and the era of the speed wide receiver dawned. Bob averaged 20 yards per catch over a six year career. Think about that. Anyway, congratulations to his family, the NFL and Cowboy fans everywhere. His legacy is secure.

Then please explain how the Seahawks' quarterback, after throwing an INT, was flagged for an illegal block while trying to tackle the DB who had intercepted the ball.

^ im not arguing that every call was right but come on, picking out one bad one and saying that you got jobbed because of it is silly, doesnt change that fact it was a turnover. I do thank applaud hasselsack for living up to his ability in throwing that pick. Maybe he'll find more success in his tv commercial career (seems to have a hell of an agent). The Seahawks were a weak team that year but they also played against the weakest NFC field, possibly, ever. The reason that game was in question at any point was that Bill Cowher had ducked back into his offensive shell, which had kept him from being a winning playoff coach for years before, that I, like many, thought he had broken free of during that years run. I know that Holmgren fanned the flames surrounding the officiating with his very unprofessional, and bitter, behavior after the loss but while he might not get over the loss I hope the rest of Seattle eventually does. Oh, and any thought that the NFL had a pro Steelers bias that year could be quickly buried with a review of the Colts game.
On another note: Great parade in Pittsburgh for the champs today. I believe that the population lining the parade route actually exceeded that of the city itself. We are a nation!
