At first when I heard Chris Johnson could put up 2000 yards I thought LOLWUT!?
But when I looked at his numbers, and then saw how he runs, and now with the threat of Young....I think he can absolutely make it. Kind of hope so, never thought I'd see a 2000 yard rusher in my life.

Not with the pass happy league of today....

Did you not watch football in the 90s?  Wait, even Jamal Lewis was 2003!

Actually no, I was a late starter to football.
I forgot about Jamal Lewis! But still, I didn't start watching until 2004 (no joke)
Just missed it....LOL

Ah.  Of the recent ones the Barry Sanders year was the best IMO.  He's still the best I've ever seen.

Barry Sanders = the one and only good thing that we've had as Lions' fans in my lifetime.

I don't think he'll hit 2000 though. Yeah he has a feasible shot at it, but still 160 yrds a game will be tough to do down the stretch.

So things aren't going so great for my Seahawks, who managed a total of 4 rushing yards against the Vikings.  Taking nothing away from the Vikings D, but 4 yards is a joke and has nothing to do with D.  It has to do with pure incompetence.  Has anyone checked the stats for last week?  Was there even a single running back on any team that did not have a 4 yard rush?  And yet the 'hawks can only manage that for a game?  The 2009 version of the 'hawks have hit the bottom, or maybe it'll only get worse.  We'll find out in STL this week.  Plus side:  two first round picks next year, and as long as Denver continues their freefall should be two top 10s.

Can you tell me where we're headin'?
Lincoln County Road or Armageddon.

Oh yeah, I always refuse to pick "best of" in ANYthing. But I can say without doubt Sanders was the best running back ever.

As for your Seahawks Jammun, it is crazy to think a few years ago you had Shaun Alexander run for almost 1900 yards. Now they move the ball 11 inches per run. Goes to show how quickly the NFL changes. An injury, loss of fullback and Alexander's career is done.

Well, I said he was the best I have seen.  I would say Jim Brown was the best ever.

QFT. Dood was on a entirely different level. Marshall Faulk also used to make defenders look foolish.

You are correct sir, Jim Brown = best ever.

Jamal Lewis was really just the product of a lot of great cocaine that year.

Jim Brown is #2 no doubt...but in terms of physical skill and more importantly the team Sanders had to play on....but hey, this debate never gets settled.

Speaking of the Lions they are yet again playing lackluster. It really is amazing how a team can be so weak. There's some hope for the offense in the next year or two but that defense has nothing...

What the f*ck is wrong with the Giants?

The same team is there, have they forgotten how to play? Really, there's no way to explain what I'm seeing except that, they are just not playing tough. On both sides.
Our O-Line was one of the best, now they are not run blocking at all.
So sad to see one of the toughest teams in the NFL playing like this

Denver beat up on the Giants.  26 to 6 was the final score.

The only thing that really surprises me is that Denver scored 26 pts.  Would be surprised if either team finished the year with a winning record frankly (though I'm not sure how hard Denver's remaining schedule is).  I'm thankful to this day that the Giants ended the Cheatriots dreams of going undefeated but aside from that year's playoff run they have never really showed themselves to be an elite team.
There seems to be only two legit teams in the NFL at this point in the year:  New Orleans and Minnesota
I don't put Indy in that group due to there total lack of a running game and defensive secondary, that and their schedule this year looks like that of a Big Ten school ("Who we playing at home this week?  Sister's of the Poor, ok cool, BCS bowl game here we come.").

Got the chance to watch the Packers v Lions yesterday Tongue (seeing the Packers on TV is quite rare here in the UK Wink).

OK, so I know it was only the Lions (sorry Scott) but that was pretty impressive.  But for a couple of failures to convert inside the 10 it could have been a total blowout.  Defensively the Pack were great.  Is Woodson the best defensive acquisition ever or what?

I'd like to ask you guys in the States a question, as you get to see a lot more games than me (seriously, a LOT more).  Are the Lions really that bad, or would it be fair to give kudos to GBP for their performance too.  The rookie Lions QB (Stafford?) looks promising but he has a lot to learn.  I'm hoping Rodgers grows in stature too, hopefully he can develop a real presence on the field, as technically he looks sound.

I don't know how Indy isn't a good team. I don't know how the Bengals aren't a good time either.

Denver is a good team. They had a bad run and were exposed because they certainly do have problems, but they played at about the level I would expect in the Giants game. A spotty offensive that'll pick up a lot of short gains and a very good secondary. If you watched the game the coverage the entire time was sick.

I think the Giants are just being shown for what they are. I'm not sure why they can't run the ball, but their secondary can be shredded and without running the ball you're left with Eli and his receivers which are what they are.

Said "legit" not good, Indy is certainly a good team but a completely one dimensional team as well.  Cincy just lost to Oakland and their only semi impressive win against a decent team was last week against the Steelers.  Denver does have a favorable schedule left but they also showed, in Washington, that they could lose to anyone.  There is no way Denver can be seen as a Super Bowl contender (what I'm speaking to with "legit") no matter what their record ends up being.

yeah, luckilly I'm home on break or I wouldn't be able to catch it. Of course for a channel you pay for there were a lot of commercial breaks...

But yes, the G-Men are looking sad. The defense and run game are just abysmal...
