Well, the Lions and Chiefs games both ended with both teams losing as expected. The big surprise was Cincy winning their first of the year over Jacksonville. The Lions play Jacksonville at home next week, so maybe there is hope.
I took Oakland as my upset special this week. Boy am I upset that I made that pick.

GIANTS DOMINATION! They flat-out embarrassed the 'Boys today. Great D and spectacular offense. They've got more run-pass balance than any Giants team I've ever seen before. I don't think I'm going out on a limb when I say the G-Men are the best in the NFL right now.

I think I'd rather spend an afternoon getting holes drilled in my head than to watch my Cowboys try to muster an offense without a quarterback. Congrats to the Giants but don't get too giddy over running up the score on a team that has no heart and no guts.

Miami Dolphins....4-4 so far.....Parcells magic is working...why not a winning season...this season?
Yes the Giants are impressive, especially considering the losses in the off season!

Definitely. Having lost two starting linebackers, a starting safety, and two of the best ends in the league, I wasn't expecting the Giants D to put together half the performance it has so far. They've done a better job in the past two years of finding great young players than any other team in the league.

G-men beat the Cowboys!
Double Victory! After losing people to retirement, trade, injury and in the dreaded Super Bowl slump the Giants are playing BETTER!
GO GIANTS

Did someone mention "trainwrecks" somewhere within the forum? In order to be able to say I was apart of history, I will be in attendance today at my first Lions' regular season game since they moved to Ford Field. I used to go to the Silverdome a couple of times a year with my dad when I was younger, but I probably haven't been to a regular season game in over 10 years. The Lions are on their way to 0 and 16, and I want to be able to say that I was there.

Scott, I want Detroit to win a couple so the Chiefs have a better chance at the number one pick.

Maybe Culpepper will help the Lions' chances but their schedule looks pretty grim. Today is a good possibility and also maybe when Minnesota comes to Detroit, but other than that I honestly don't see the Lions having a chance to win. Unless of course the Tennessee Titans eat their Thanksgiving turkey before the game and they are too lethargic afterwards to play the game.

Chiefs are actually looking pretty good so far against San Diego. The TV announcers are darn near wetting themselves over QB Tyler Thigpen when it was believed that this kid wasn't good enough for the NFL.
What is going on with this team?

The Lions led 7 to 3 at one point. Dante Culpepper's first completed pass was caught by a Jaguar. I think that Johnson caught 2 passes for 90 yards. The Lions really need to go to him more. Drew Stanton looked decent in his backup roll, but Lions' backups always look better than the starters, until they become the starters. Oh well, at least when they finish 0 and 16 I can say that I was in attendance at one of the losses.

How did you like Maurice Jones Drew? 3 tds today.
My college team sucks my pro team is the joke of the NFL so all I have left is to root for my college players in the NFL. MJD, Marcedes Lewis, Chris Horton to name a few
As for the Raiders they had both Jamarcus Russel and Darren McFadden out injured today. Not much hope for a team that cuts starting players in the middle of the season.

How 'bout that Drew Brees? I know he lost, and he had what was universally considered a "disappointing day", but he passed for a whopping 422 yards. That's gotta be the best "disappointing day" any QB has ever had!

I was at the Saints - Chargers match at Wembley a couple of weeks ago, Brees was simply incredible, most of his throws weren't particularly spectacular but the rate at which the Saints offence could move forward as a result of his consistency was really impressive. TBH that game at Wembley managed ot make me a fan of the NFL I'm still trying to find a team to support and I don't quite understand all the rules but I'm enjoying the few games we get on British TV (2 live games a week in the middle of the night).

Whatever you do, don't make the Detroit Lions the team that you decide to support. No good will ever come from it.
