LOL! I do think it should at least be connected though. Then again....U of South Florida is already in the big east so what rules are there? At least Nebraska is still touching a Big 10 state. They were thinking about Texas...and that's not even close to the others oi!

Interesting moves for sure. I do love the blue field though and now that BS is going to be in the Big East maybe I'll see more of their games.
Also, am I the only one that thinks there are just too many bowl games?

I agree that the BCS should be completely scrapped, but... Alabama lost to an undefeated, number one team in the country. Oklahoma State lost to a .500 mediocre team. If you want to talk about not doing enough to have the "right" to play in the national championship game, all that Oklahoma State failed to do was beat a team over which they were almost 30 point favorites. The only thing that Alabama failed to do was fail to beat the number one team in the country in overtime. Sorry, but with those facts, the first part of your post comes off as a little bit illogical. The second half I completely agree with, though. Boise State, Arkansas, and TCU all got much smaller bowls than I thought that they deserved. I can't even fathom what brought them to face Boise St. against Arizona... There were a million better match ups than that. And I agree that IF Alabama wins, LSU has a legitimate reason to claim a co-title, having beaten Bama once, but then again in other sports that's not the case. In baseball you can sweep a season series against a team but it doesn't matter if you let them beat you in the playoffs. If LSU can't win THE game, then they can't really cry about it too much

Hate to say it bro, but even if you are 1000% right all any of us see is "Georgia" and think SEC! GOD DAMN SEC! And tune out what you say Nah I kid, somewhat, as I've said I dont follow college ball nearly as much now so I only know that Bama is good, and LSU is good and etc but can't follow what went down. I do know what MWH said is true, there are WAY too many bowl games. Most are a joke, and just for $$$ which is the other BCS problem. The teams people want to see the most will get preference. Hawaii/Georgia years ago was a wake up call. They gave a small time undefeated school a chance to play with the "big boys" and get torched! More important for the BCS...it was not a greatly watched game I believe. Also that awesome Boise St/Oklahoma game drew low ratings, which is a shame because that was a great one. Other bowl games with non traditional teams have drawn low ratings. So while the BCS is driven by $$$ these lesser teams will (fairly or unfairly) always be screwed. No one wants to watch these "small" teams. Even though Utah later went on to beat Bama in the Sugar Bowl. Proving some of these teams can run with the big boys...maybe not the biggest boys but still. Edit: I fully admit, my conference is part of the problem as I know the Big Ten has always been very against a playoff system (though I do believe JoePa supported it).

Speaking of which, how close was Wisconsin to an undefeated season?? IDK if they'd get title game consideration but maybe??? I'm just glad they are repping the Big Ten this year.
They do have a heisman candidate in Montee Ball: 6.4 YAC, 32 rushing TDs and 38 in total! As well as an under the radar QB in Russ Wilson. 72.5% with 31 TDs and 3 picks. I do think the Big Ten's rep for being ground and pound (which is FAR from the truth these days) holds back our QBs, including one Daryll Clark...but what do I know? : P

Well this is where the whole computer points deal comes into play, or not. Based on OSU winning their conference that should have given them some additional points, they also played more games than Alabama, there is another weight to add in. Also I am not 100% sure but I think OSU played a tougher schedule than Bama? If so that should be worth some points........My main point is that OSU should have moved ahead of Bama based on BCS computer rankings. The coaches or human votes I think Bama was winning that one because mainly due to the points you make about them........So I don't think it is illogical, since nobody even understands the whole BCS computer matrix they use....To me it seems logical that OSU should be playing in the NCG, when you simply look at what each team ACHIEVED during their respective seasons.
Regardless, OSU is a conference champion, Alabama is not.....so they failed at that where OSU did not. And to use your MLB analogy, you cannot play in the WS if you do not win the NLCS or ALCS..
Bottomline is its a pc of garbage....all around.

oh that fat b*****d. Honestly, I just hate most everyone affiliated with Belichek and first Kansas City (aka new england of the midwest) now to U of Kansas! Well, he was coach of Notre Dame over perhaps it's most shameful period in a long time but is a good coach I think and runs a nice pro style offense that doesn't exist in college anymore. Also curious to see how Rich Rod does in Arizona after massively failing out of Michigan, and what will Savior Meyer do in the Big Ten? Will he try to implement his whack offenses here? Well, we might as well get with the times....

Yeah, he presided over the worst 3 year period in the school's history, but it has rebounded since he's left (aka his recruits) so guess that's something.
I really don't follow much though like I said.

Ha! We will see, jokes and bias aside I really don't get the appeal. He seems to have recruited well but that was also for Notre Dame...and when you recruit well but success doesn't really come with it...something is not right edit: Though expectations will not be as cut throat as at Notre Dame. Kind of like Rich Rod going to Michigan (though he also wanted to trash a system and build a whole new one which doesn't lead to quick success).

If you are a fan of running the ball, clock moving, real option football like I am the game of the year is on. Army/Navy game! The only football game you could actually run in one hour Oh! I forgot about Georgia Tech, I watch them when I get the chance as they also run the triple option/flexbone but in Army/Navy both sides do...so it's just awesome.

Navy's scheme comes from Paul Johnson, who is now the head coach of GT.

Well yeah, that's why G Tech runs it Johnson is a premier coach of it. Though it does go back farther, to the Air Force days in the 80s I think. And of course the triple option/option offense goes waaaay back It boggles my mind, between the 2 teams it's been almost 80 run plays now and 2 passes I think. How on Earth can it move down the field like that??? But they do. It's real basic, assignment football executed to perfection. The blocking, at the line or in space, blocking schemes and subtle changes through out. Making people miss in space. It's so fundamental and perfect it drives me nuts! And playing it requires perfect assignment defense and execution, a miscue will always cost you, and pretty dearly. I love it. edit: Totally unnecessary for any school not the Armed Forces or maybe real real small ones. Honestly not sure why GA Tech uses it. Just to do it I guess. But I do love watching it.

Johnson came from Georgia Southern, a I-AA powerhouse. The scheme itself has been around forever, though he does play a modified version of the traditional wishbone.

GT uses it because it's what Paul Johnson has always done (and has had enormous success doing). Honestly, it's going to find its way back to the NFL. Pass-heavy offenses were novel, but defenses are catching up (slowly), and their downsides (unreliable, turnover-prone) will only get worse. If you have a tough running quarterback, you can use the option to squeeze guaranteed yards and open up passing lanes. The main reason the wishbone lost popularity is that defenses eventually cheat the run, so you have to be able to throw the ball. This is why GT isn't a top-tier team: Nesbitt (previous) and Washington (current) are piss-poor passers. Bring in Tebow and you'd have a hell of a team.

But that's it...doing it just because it's what he does. GA Tech has absolutely no need for such a thing, I like it...but they can recruit actual football players and not kids playing for fun that know they will never go to the NFL. As you said, to run the option as such you are gunna have a piss poor thrower. If they are any decent in any way you will throw it more. OR you need the ultimate team player that will somehow be OK with throwing 10 times a game When GA tech goes down by like 14+ points how on Earth do they claw back? I've seen big plays happen with the scheme but I've also seen GA tech go spread and attempt to pass it. good god! Which is why I question why they would even want Johnson to come in but hey, i aint complaining! The NFL is just "too good" for it. The extreme running schemes (single wing/ FB 2 TE or multi back sets) died by the 50s man Also none of these offenses have worked in the NFL because you have had 190 lb QBs OR guys who couldn't hit a barn.... Tebow is big and is...well good enough right now. Though even him, why bother with such a whack offense at the big times? If he starts developing into a passing QB then you will have one hell of a dual threat! Also man, the $$$$$ look at that Army/Navy game. The winning QB carries it 36 times. Imagine a QB taking the rock 30+ times a game in the NFL! Even 20 times a game would be 320 carries! That guy will have a 4 year career, and if he is a stud that gets paid $15 million....you cant have such a thing.
