i know that most people here are leaning towards symphonic prog n AOR type music when it comes to prog but i've been getting back in2 prog n RIO/Avant-Prog has always been my fav type of prog. my fav bands from the RIO Circuit are Henry Cow (n also their equally dope offshoot Art Bears), Samla Mammas Manna n Etron Fou Leloublan.

I like Buldožer from former Yugoslavia. This is the song "Good morning, Madam Jovanović" from their second album from 1977.

The most sophisticated and adventurous genre in prog.

Due to my proclivities for the bizarre and experimental i'd say avant is close to the top of my list of prog lsits.

The problem with a lot of symph and neo theses days is it simply recycles the same playbook but honestly i do love music from every style of prog from the sugary sweet to the most bitter.

I also like the Czech band The Plastic People of the Universe and highly recommend this album, an archival release from July 2023 that includes their recordings from the 1970s.

Regarding contemporary stuff, these days I really enjoy the music by the Ukrainian band Gravitsapa. They released this album in February 2023. It is strongly recommended!

I greatly enjoy the music of Art Zoyd and Univers Zero. The first Far Corner album is great and I Love Miriodor. I find Julverne fascinating.

I lean both ways. I'm a big fan of both symphonic prog and avant-prog. Present, Thinking Plague, Horse Lords, 5uu's, and Henry Cow are among my favorite bands of the genre. I've also taken a liking to the avant-prog stuff coming out of France, such as PoiL, ni, and Le Grand Sbam. Totally agree with others that the most innovative bands are coming from the avant areas, but I also like my share of retro too. I can be vast, like a four-slice toaster, or soupy, like an eight-wheeled Winnebago.

I'm definitely a beginner in this genre, but for other beginners I could recommend Univers Zero's Clivages (2010).

Looked it up and it's social media slang apparently and extremely poor use of language IMO

I believe it is a lazy way to say "follow."

The English language is changing before our eyes, thanks to "text" language.  I've had university professors tell me that their students write entire papers using it.  Terms like OMG (Oh my God) are in common usage.

Of course, the word "okay" was generated from a contraction for "all correct," so we've been down this path.
