What is the correct way to refer to someone as "you", as in if you don't know their name or simply don't care enough to say their name every time you talk to them. I've read 貴方 is mostly only used when women talk to their husbands. Is お前 acceptable? 貴殿?

みやこさん、そう綺麗 ![]() Look how ridiculously bad my grammar is: 私は、いつに日本に勉強に大学多分(Le Silo) を見る。 What I mean to say is, "If I can study abroad in Japan, maybe I will see Le Silo". But, I'm 100% it is simply a jumble of words. エリックさん is right, I need to quit learning kanji for a while and focus on grammar.

![]() Anyway, I'm in Yokohama (now before a conference) and ... last night I've attended a superb gig by Le Silo, Mitsuru Nasuno, and Djamra. Miyako Kanazawa (Le Silo) is a cute mademoiselle indeed ... and a bit sexy hahaha. ![]() みやこさん、可愛いです。 昨日のライブはとても楽しかったです。

I'm fluent in Chinese, for the most part (which is not Japanese, I'm aware) and I use http://www.yellowbridge.com/chinese/chinese-dictionary.php to check the characters. Chinese characters are 'Kanji', or 漢字 which I'm guessing is what Kanji looks like in Kanji. The meanings for the characters are the same, so perhaps you could use it... Also http://www.zhongwen.com/ I use for the character trees, which you'll see on the right-hand side of the page. It's very useful if you'd like to know how certain characters are compounded from other smaller characters.

In the sentence 手紙を日本へ送る, why is を between 手紙 and 日本? Neither of those are verbs, and を designates the direct object of a verb, right?

^ Same things actually.
![]() And Apsalar, "feel like home" is "家庭的です" in Japanese ("like" is "...のような" or "...的" I consider). 私は一年間ロシアで生活しましたが、家庭的でした。 |

Not sure if this has been shared already, but it was a site that helped me a lot when learning
It has most things you need in a pretty compact layout.. Also for confusing slang :)
