When does learning kanji become easier? I'm hoping it's kind of like learning advanced mathematics or music theory in the way that it's difficult at first but then there is a mental threshold to be reached where everything suddenly clicks.

あの。。。we need the experienced ones back! I think it is going to take a long time to become competent with Kanji, but frequency is the key to remember new characters. in a way learning on the computer I think makes it a little easier. for instance: if you press spacebar after typing みえる it will automatically turn into 見える and from that I can establish 見 is look (looking, watching, etc.). so I've gotten myself into the habit of converting the Hiragana into Kanji as I'm typing, and in this way made associations between the Romaji I've picked up watching anime, and the Kanji which represent them.
similarly using jisho.org as an example: じしょconverts into 辞書 = dictionary. 辞 = language, dialect, word(s) etc & 書 = document, handwriting, calligraphy, etc, hence we get dictionary.

other ways I've found to be helpful are 'flash card' games, it is similar to how I was taught English when I was young. oh, and i shop reasonably frequently in Asian supermarkets which is pretty fun working out Kanji/words via the food products.

おお、すみません。私は日本語しないよいです。

I feel like my vocabulary studies are starting to pay off well. This short paragraph only took me about 3 minutes to construct.

ボロックウェユ is my last name...

すてきな仕事。 Smile

was trying to work out what  ボロックウェユ was then I made it to the end of your post. writing takes me a while, mostly because I don't have confidence with the particles and the 'i' and 'na' stuff yet.

They never become easier. Up to 25-50 is relatively easy, after that they all start looking too much the same.

あなた頻繁に旅行 Shocked 幸運!

I'm still getting used to the particles, but I found a cheatsheet kind of thing on tofugu's website that lists all of the particles and examples of usage and it's helped me out quite a bit, though I still can't seem to use が correctly.

はい、運のいい。あなた海外へ旅行のあるいは国内旅行ですか。

thanks, I'll check out the sheets on tofugu. i find it hard, or in turn make it hard for myself by thinking it is hard, when the sentences start to grow and your dealing with multiple particulars each of which seem to change to the structure of the sentence.

i don't think the net helps with Kanji identification, once they start becoming more complicated they blur into the little blocks.

いいえ、私はしたい。おもにしたいノルウェイと日本にいく。

私は五漢字毎日学ぶ。三百六十五 * 五=千八百二十五.
Hopefully my math is right. (365*5=1825) So I should be fairly decent at kanji by approximately one year from now.
