Probably my favourite U2 album, closely followed by 'boy'. A transition between the post-punk/new wave of their debuts and the bluesy/country folk of the album to follow 'The Joshuah Tree' (the best of both worlds !). 
The new wave songs must have had a huge influence on Fish for 'Misplaced Childhood' (similar riffs in 'bad' and marillion's 'white feather', 'pride' sounds like a neo-prog song...).
