A tough one.

I'll go with Supertramp, although I don't mind listening to Styx every now and then.

Supertramp and Crime of The Century trumps Styx and The Grand Illusion any day. I couldn't stand Styx in the 70s and I see little reason to change my opinion now. Bloody well right!

Ack. I had a huge, detailed post written up for this thread, and my machine crashed.

In short, I have always loved Styx and will always love Styx.  Admittedly a rather unpopular position, but any band that could record The Serpent is Rising, Queen of Spades, Snowblind, and Don't Sit Down on the Plexiglass Toilet has my vote.

Still trying to love Supertramp. The fact that I just passed over a perfect $3 vinyl of Crime of the Century doesn't bode well.

As for this one, Supertramp by a mile!  Styx could only DREAM of creating something like Crime of the Century.

Right. Not the same sensitiveness.

One of my best achievements in life was to find this picture :D

STYX by far, the started as Prog and evolved to some sort of mainstream Prog but keeping the quality..At least until Babe (Don't say Cornerstone, because Lights and Boat on a River are outstanding).

easy--Supertramp--I'm not into any American "prog" related or whatever--late 70's or 80's bands--not Styx, Kansas, Journey, Boston, etc.
