I chose Marillion-- I realized after all these years that I basically enjoyed Queen's Brian May compositions

Even though I am not as fond of recent Marillion I still listen to them a lot more than Queen. Vote goes to Marillion.

Queen, no question.
Everyone knows rock attained perfection in 1974, it's a scientific fact.

Regardless of the fact that Queen's discography is only vaguely imprented on my mind I consider it fairly safe to assume that they made more than four (4) great albums.

Marillion, for both, their neo-prog period and their more "crossover prog" period.

Queen was a very talented band, even prog at times, but I was never fond of them.

Queen's really under-appreciated here. Marilliion had a run of four pretty great albums, but Queen did it for longer than that. Night/Day album duo really is a fine legacy just by itself.
