Alright, being that pop music is not popular within proggies at all, I figured I'd like to know what your favorite pop record is. Nothing that is on this site is permitted, so that means no Beatles, Moody Blues, etc.

So make your decisionWink

Here's mine:

Which actually includes my favourite pop song of all time, the title track.

I'm actually a huge Billy Joel fan! He just makes such sophisticated and awesome pop music, so I would need to pick something from him!

Me too J-man, I love everything from Streetlight all to way to 52nd Street.  Didn't like the 80s much though.

I'm cheating a little perhaps, cos it's kinda alternative rock too, but what the hey.
Honestly, I thought I'd hate this band completely, but I've found myself listening to this album literally everyday for the last 2 months. At first I felt kinda embarrassed for liking this, but honestly I don't care anymore and even some of my metalhead elitist friends know I like this now lol. Some of the songs are just so ridiculously catchy I want to commit suicide knowing I could never write music that sticks in yer brain this good. Pretty good musicianship as well.

^And a cute, young singer (who can actually sing pretty well!)

What qualifies as pop here? I like a lot of Indie pop like of Montreal and stuff.

If we go down the Indie road then I suppose I better introduce my favourite Indie album as well then...

I don't care how sophisticated you think it is. I love it for its grittiness and old fashioned english atmosphere.

Hmmm, I never got into the arctic monkeys. Maybe I'll try again. Here are some I've been bangin' lately:

St. Vincent - Actor & Marry Me
of Montreal - Hissing Fauna... & Satanic Panic in the Attic
Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
Belle and Sebastian - If You're Feeling Sinister & Dear Catastorphe Waitress
etc.
