Intolerable, inexcusable filth it is! Bless you for pointing that out, good sir.

I know. I laugh at every person who announces these stupid bands as masters of music. They aren't even half good, much less masters.

Everyone these days listens to this embarrassing metal music. I took a listen to Meshuggah, and it was just noise, no talent whatsoever. Another guy here made me listen to some song by Between The Bread and Me to convince me that metal was creative, and he thought it was just brilliant because they had a minute of a bluegrass band playing in their song. And then there's this stupid band named Tool that just sucks altogether.

Metal is crap.

The only good music has been made before 1989. Anything after it is garbage. Absolute drivel.
Don't you mean 1789? Romanticism ruined music.
if you own a sodastream i hate you

Romanticism? Dude, music died the day polyphony was invented.

Especially Shine on You Crazy Diamond. I absolutely hate that track.
It's not that I can't find worth in anything, it's just that I can't find worth in enough.

Progressive rock is pathetic. That is right. These albums are mere showings of how terrible this music is, and you should all be ashamed of listening to it. Especially you. That's right, you heard me, or read me.

First off, it is all built on forcing yourself to like it. Some artists and pants-wetting fans might toss around words such as "deep" "complex" "meaningful" or the best one "it's a grower". These people have stunted mental growth, and should be arrested for attempted assassination...of good music.

It is obvious that progressive rock is inferior to all other genres of music, especially new age-classical and punk rock. Anyone denying this has low self esteem issues and glandular disorders. Pink Floyd? They did nothing but make one note guitar solos for whole albums, and are a complete and utter waste of time to listen to.

That whole avantgarde shtick is ridiculous. What is that, they are good because they purposely play material that isn't music? I'd say these terrible artists such as Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart, and Henry Cow were just bumbling drug abusers, rather than musicians.

Your musical taste sucks, and you should all go listen to a REAL album, like the Dirty dancing soundtrack, or a Judas Priest tribute album.

You sound just like my collegues who I try to infect occasionally with prog. It's not working ... Ouch  LOL.
Well, it's their loss, isn't it ?

Jokes aside, is it almost unanimous that everyone scoffs and makes fun of Walter's musical ideas, because they think it is a complete crock?

Walter ? Is that Walter Becker ? Great musician !

One thing that irritates me about prog is how bands are complex for the sake of being complex. Like Atheist, or Spastic Ink. Why on earth would anyone wanna listen to a song that interchanges between 139/256, 666/512 and π/4?

^ That being one. I DO think some bands over do it, for the sake of being complex. Though a song inπ/4 would be sweet!
Many prog bands you DO have to force yourself to listen to... it can be, (as well as its fans) very pretentious, and im sure there are some bands out there with no musical talent that go for avant-grade/experimental.

I love prog!

Why are so many people, while trying to express how some time measure complex can be, using the expression π/4? Honestly, I'll try to program some drum machine in that measure and to make a song!

12/4 + 13/4 is a good enough approximation for most circular ears.
What?
