My first step of prog was a program on the radio, and it was (and "is") PA that could (and "can") let my progworld widen and enlarge.

BTW, your website I visited. Wonderful! Clap
Though LOL with translation into Japanese... LOL

I've checked.
Albums already rated but not reviewed are included in the list.

Now, I've written my review of one unreviewed album. Smile

Nice to see you are enjoying being here and writing reviews, PA is a site i loved at first sight and a place where i can relax and learn everyday about my favourite genre, and because of the members here, i can discover and appreciate new bands or some hidden gems.

I personally enjoy a lot writing my reviews, though i dont do it as often as i used to, i love it when i have time, reviews are one of the best things this site have, there we can appreciate the different points of view of people from all the world.

These words are also my words.

Damo you are one of my preferred PA members Thumbs UpShockedClapSmileWink!!!

That's really true. Whenever I review an album, and write down everything i like and dislike about it, i feel much more educated about the music.

Alberto, your old thread is very great! Thanks!
All opinions there could help me well enough.
About me, write reviews without reading others' reviews.
I think my first impression and passion are very impotrant for my reviews.

When I started reviewing (elsewhere than here), I used to set up the reviews in a certain manner.

1. Introduction - a bit about the band. When they formed, where they are from; stuff like that. No need for many details in here, as the artists have a bio, but an introduction of sorts is usually a good idea.

2. A brief description of influences, stated versus the ones you are able to catch perhaps; a few comments on evolvements and changes from previous releases if applicable.

3. More full description of the music on the release you're reviewing. Stylistic traits, how likeable the songs are, major positives and negatives described.

4. Conclusion, perhaps with some mentions of possible target audiences for the album in particular and the artist in general.

It was a useful plan to follow when I started out - and might work for others as well.

Indeed - it is a nice way to structure it, as a basic foundation. But when hitting the flow when writing, variations will eventually be produced. As with most such structures it is meant as a tool to help focus the mind rather than a straitjacket that has to be followed to the letter :-)

Thougt about that, but assuming everyone read about the band in artist bio. decided it was not important.

Lazy days........... I have been listening to around one hundred prog rock albums since I last wrote a review for PA. Mostly just getting an impression of each album without going into great details. I guess I have around three hundred reviews I need to do now. But I will catch up before the end of the year.........

The structure Windhawk use is highly recommended. I will try to stick to that myself......... help me God !
