I was behind Brees all the way earlier this season, but now I'm not so sure...he hasn't played at that same level for the second half.  There's nobody clear right now.  I'd probably take Kurt over anybody else; I loved Kurt during his prime with the Rams, and it's unbelievable that he's again playing at the same level he was at during the Greatest Show on Turf.

Warner's right up there as a contender, no doubt.

I'd say that while Big Ben isn't having his best year statistically he gets the job done with the game on the line which should make him a contender but with everyone in football jumping on this Colts bandwagon the award will go to Peyton, the league will not shake its crush on the Manning family

Gets the job done with the game on the line?  Did you see the Giants-Steelers game a few months ago?  Pittsburgh was up 14-9 going into the fourth quarter but Ben threw two picks and gave up a turnover on downs to lose the game.  Not exactly clutch.

Besides, the entire Steelers offense has been awful this year.  If a man of Steel wins the MVP, it'll be James Harrison.

I like Peterson and Warner both but I also have to put Pennington into the mix as well.  His play is a big reason the Dolphins were able to turn it around so quickly.
Al Davis should take a good look at the Dolphins right now. It should be his blueprint to turn his own sorry ass team around.

Chiefs have all but secured the 3rd spot on this year's draft. DON'T #$*! IT UP!!!

I'm sure Antoine was peering down on Arrowhead Stadium and happy with the results. Probably had the best seat in the house.

Cowboys/Eagles in a regular season finale that actually means something.  Doesn't get much better than that.  Wouldn't have it any other way....

The Lions are 0 and 15 and playing Green Bay in Lambeau Field where they haven't won in 17 years.  Granted, Green Bay had Favre for most of those years, and was also a pretty good team for most of those years.  I think that it would be the ironies of all ironies if the Lions actually win on Sunday.  The best thing they have going for them is that it is a meaningless game for the Packers.  On the other hand, the game on Sunday was meaningless for the Saints who were 1 and 6 on the road, eliminated from the playoffs the previous week, and without Reggie Bush, and yet they beat the Lions 42 - 7.

Well, not much to say:
G-men have first round bye, home field advantage, a chance to relax this week
Quite different from last year, just hope things work out as well....

Besides that: Hoping the Cowboys lose, like always
The Dolphins can beat the Jets
And the Lions get that win LOL I know 0-16 sounds bad but how about: Since starting 2007 6-2 the Lions have gone 1-22!!!!!

Bucs are out and I'm rather thankful... we'll spend the off season practicing tackling without Monte Kiffin...

Eagles are embarrassing the Cowboys, and looks like Miami is going to take the AFC East... sweet,...

What the hell happened to the Tampa D?  It seems like they gave up 1000 yards of offense in each of their last six games.

With the design of the tampa two the defenders are responsible for their gaps or area of the field, one missed tackle stands for a long gain.. and we've missed a ton of tackles the last 4 games..  (20 missed tackles in the Carolina game alone..)

Monte also announced he'll be joining his son in Tennessee .. Haye, Hovan, White, Adams, basically our DL are hampered with injuries on the defensive line, zero pressure on the QB in December, and when we did try to run some blitz packages the missed tackles killed us (esp. during the Carolina game) ... so we didn't try any more blitzes the last 3 games and we had no pressure on the QBs...

... and on offense Joey Galloway and Garcia obviously didn't get along this season.  Observed one play where Joey batted a pass down from Garcia that was ridiculously catchable.  He pulled up on his routes and gave half hearted moves... when did run a decent route and was open, Garcia responded by not throwing it to him... was horrible to witness.  (after that batted pass in game 1, I keyed on Galloway with binoculars when he was in the game at home.)  Cadallac also re-injured his knee today and is probably gone from football now, was amazing he was able to come back anyway with his previous injury.  We also lost RB Ernest Graham, which pretty much leaves us with Warrick Dunn...

Chemistry is gone.. Players that leave Tampa slam Gruden, saying how two faced he is.  So, our off season should be interesting to see if veterans will want to play for Gruden (we have alot of room under the cap, but it seems we've reverted back to being a team no one wants to play on...)

Good to hear who we might have playing for the Lions next year, since that seems to be where all good Bucs go to end their careers.

Steve Young
Doug Williams
Trent Dilfer

I used to have a list of ex-Buc QBs that won or atleast made a SB appearance after leaving Tampa Bay...

I like the Tampa 2, and I like the way that they Bucs are no longer sticking so exclusively to it; they showed clips on NFL Live of all the times they showed the traditional cover 2 and then either blitzed and got the sack or dropped more men into deep zones and picked off passes.  It is a run-weak system (dropping the middle linebacker into mid to deep coverage is suicide against the run when your D-Line is weak) and it looks like the rest of the NFL figured out how to take advantage.  It's a shame that the Tampa 2 is working so well in Indy but not in Tampa.

I believe that the Lions also use the Tampa 2 defense, and well, they went 0 and 16 and have the 34th ranked defense in the league.
