There is a pretty strong Dream Theater influence, but they are more varied, have a slightly stronger 70's influence than DT and have fewer Metal-sounding moments. Not clone-sounding, as far as I'm concerned. The singer is far better aswell (in my opinion) and their guitarist is as good as (if not better than) Petrucci. He has a more down to earth and mature playing style, but he is able to do everything Petrucci does. I'm not really good at explain the sound of bands though, the best thing would be to get their album Prélude à la Ruine. Indeed, I've totally forgotten to mention Gnidrolog in my previous post. In my opinion, they are really stronger than the overwhelming majority of the bands in PA; on a par with the absolute leaders of the discussed category, speaking not about the quantity of albums and ideas throughout the career, but about the quality of their two first albums, In Spite of Harry's Toe-nail and Lady Lake, both of which are highly recommended

But the name of the group sounds just awful for the Slavic ears...

I ain't sure you can find them in store.As long as I know, INFRONT is avalaible for purchasing on Amazon...check their site for more info!

No, certainly not the music. The 2-in-1 new release (both albums in one disc) is one of my favourite discs (can't say "albums") overall. Utterly strong. I even have a difficulty to listen to it often (well, it always happens to me with such kind of music, like Van der Graaf Generator, Peter Hammill (solo), or King Crimson).

I like Rush, TMV and Radiohead.

What does Taal sound like? I'm asking because I am thinking of getting one of their albums. Which one should I start with?

You can get Skymind from Amazon still but goodluck in finding Mr Green from anywhere, I believe both albums are out of print now.

My grandfather sent me an external hardrive with 300 GB of vinyls he got music off of. I went through the Art Rock artist list and found these bands on it:

The Swiss band Circus must be very interesting, too, they had a rather unique line up.

Just got GG In a Glass House. I love this album, the vocal harmonies blow me away.

Uriah Heep's one of my fav. 70s metal bands. Demons and Wizards is my fav. by them.
