Lizard is strange. Not that it is bad, but it takes time getting used to. It is not as accesible as discipline or even their debut, but the bolero in the middle of the title track is fantastic. This is the only time i have ever been able to swallow jon andersons vocals (i dont know why) and gordon haskell is very unique in his ways. He really didnt fit in with fripp and co. but it did make for a decent album. Dont get over excited about it. Listen to it when you are relaxed and let it excite you.

Lizard is awesome- it's very jazzy. And it's weird, but that doesn't say much since it's King Crimson.

Though my favorite King Crimson album is Islands, I believe that their first four albums are all masterpieces, in fact I like them most than anything else I can think of right now. Lizard is an amazing album, an absolute classic. Feautres also the great Jon Anderson on vocals on the last epic track.

I would advice you to get really into King Crimson starting with their first four album and moving on with probably Red or Lark Tongues, as they are in my personal opinion, the best band of all times.

I'm not alone in thinking that Larks Tongues is first and Lizard is second?!!  YAY!

Yeah man get Lizard it's a great record very ambitious and intersting. They really took a chance with that one and I feel it paid off ****1/2

That's all that need be said. While you're at it, get Islands, too. Those are two of my favorite Krimson releases.

I second both choices.
