You're not a true progger without a cat IMO.

Yes, cats have a clear tendency to run for their lives. I think it is a very funny thing to watch. I mean, there is that lazy creature, always having the time of his / her life laying on a pillow, or all over anything you own (like very important documents, clothes, or even people). Suddenly, something is much to loud, and the next second, they are gone. Sometimes I try to guess what do they think under stressfull circumstances. "ˇOh no! ˇMy life! ˇSee you!"

My last comment (for the moment):

Those who like dogs, go get a dog.
Those who like cats, go get a cat.
Those who are homofobic, go get a Hitler suit.

Your cat is crazy , play Opeth's - Damnation (Windowpane) to soothe him, then change drastically to something from Blackwater Park.
Scare the hell out of him! He deserves it!
Progressive music, a kind of life.

It obviously needs to see a dentist.

And it obviuosly needs some love... those "dog lovers" are often nothing more that "machos", with no sense of caring and a very strong amount of insecurity that gets covered by oversized agressive dogs...

... oversized agressive cars, oversized agressive words, etc...

Take my words on this: a cat is often a sign on high emotional intelligence.

My cat loves chocolate. And regarding food, she became a criminal, always waiting for us to feed her. When ignored (ussually, she cries and puts a very painfull expresion, like she were abandoned or something), she uses one paw to grab us by the leg or the arm. Sometimes, she bit us (not too hard, just a tiny bite on the leg) and uses both front legs to catch us and let us know she's really hungry...

My cat is an idiot. He doesn't like  milk, fish or most meat. The only non-cat food things he'll eat are creamy chicken stuff--the kind one makes chicken sandwiches with--and marinara sauce. And whenever I get home from work or school, he'll come up to me and whine and cry until I walk over to his food bowl and pet him while he eats.
