I can hear the guitars...BUT they are not very dominant in the songs like ordinary rock groups like Led Zeppelin, Rolling stones and Deep Purple...And that what i define as classic rock basically, a very dominant Guitar element where the Guitar is what drives the songs
|
But only about half the songs you listed are from their "classic rock" period. And you've conveniently left out songs like Keep Yourself Alive, Brighton Rock, Bohemian Rhapsody (OK, that one's more towards the end rather than the whole song), It's Late, Tie Your Mother Down, Stone Cold Crazy, Hammer To Fall and I Want It All, to name just a few.
|
Yep i know
But still...i think that the big majority of what i have heard of queen has not been very guitardriven songs...as said before i think 80% of their songs sound poppy

Then you definitely need to listen to their earlier albums - their
later stuff is certainly more poppy. And take a listen to the
songs available here. They're not all guitar-driven, and some are
a bit poppy, but there are also some of their more prog songs there.

If you add in Queen and Sheer Heart Attack, you've got more than 20%
(and that percentage becomes even larger if you include A Day at the
Races, News of the World and Jazz).

Nay ill never stop...i think at best queen perhaps had 10-11 moments that where something more than just simple pop...but saying that almost their entire catalogue is progressive is far too much

I never said that their entire catalogue is progressive. Yes,
they did have some pop songs, but as a whole, they're definitely more
than simple pop.
Also, I don't think Asia suck completely. They certainly do when
you consider the pedigree of the band members, but as an AOR band, they
weren't bad. Of course, if you don't like AOR, then you're not
going to like them, and I won't argue with you about that. Queen,
on the other hand are a different matter...

maidenrulez just can't look at Queen's music objectively. No need to take his Queen-opinions seriously.

Well I'm not a fanboy, although I find early Queen pretty enjoyable, but to me it's very clear that their music is very guitar-driven and is anything put simple pop.
