Why do you dislike/hate queen thread

i picked the most awfull queen melodies i could think of:

BIG BOTTOMED GIRL, BICYCLE RACE, ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST, SOME KIND OF MAGIC, RADIO GAGA, CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED LOVE AND SO ON IS POP IN ITS LOWEST SENSE...

even invisible touch was more proggy...

i like pop songs but i prefer intelligent ones...

A Kind of Magic and Radio Ga Ga aren't unintelligent pop songs - A Kind of Magic relates to the movie Highlander, and Radio Ga Ga is about radio being replaced by TV as a means of entertainment.

Seven Seas of Rhye, The Show Must Go On, Innuendo, Who Wants To Live Forever, I Want It All, Love Of My Life, Death On Two Legs, White Queen and Father To Son aren't simple pop songs (half of those weren't even released as singles).

I'm not saying that they haven't made some bad songs, but they're nowhere near as bad as some artists.  And if Queen are gay because of Freddie Mercuy's sexual preference (and he was actually bisexual), then by the same logic, Judas Priest must be gay.

I remember seeing them supporting the Earthband in Newcastle, around the time of Seven Seas of Rhye, and quite liked them. After that though, they did nothing for me - it's just a sound I could never warm to.

I don't particularly hate them, but by crackey I do hate Bohemian Rhapsody!

And i think that queen belong in the category along with the boring 80's synth pop thingie wich women at the time did listen alot to...Anyways that is just my opinion...i think that queen sounds gayish whatever that means...

That depends on which album you're listening to, but I think the guitar is quite clearly there on most of them...

Listen to any of Queen's early albums - the huge guitar orchestras of Brian May will blow you away!!!

I recommend getting Queen II - it's one of the greatest rock albums I've ever heard  If you haven't heard it, you'll never think of Queen the same way again.

That doesn't mean you'll like it, of course...
