Lack of objectivity in biographies

I think that some of the biographies here lack objectivity and represent only one point of view, for example:

"Nursery Cryme" (1971) shows the band struggling with their new mix of talent, and has a couple of weak songs. "Foxtrot" (1972) shows a more confident and accomplished band. "Selling England By The Pound" (1973) finds the band in a slightly mellower mood, with more acoustic work here on piano and guitar than before. "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway" (1974) is arguably the band's finest album.

The 70’s gave them the occasion to issue some masterpieces, like for example "Remember the Future" (1973) and "Recycled" (1975). Each is a conceptual album that is a nice blend of melodic guitar and keyboards with a vocal story. "Journey To The Centre Of The Eye" is a mindblowing epic with lots of echoplex guitar and dual Mellotrons which is quite in tune with the Krautrock stuff going on around them, yet is definitely British. "Tab in the Ocean" and "Magic is a Child" had shorter songs and were less less satisfying.

It's not the best way to introduce new guys to these bands, is it? I think some of the biographies should be rewrited, what do you think?

The Genesis one sounds pretty good to me. It's a bit short admittedly, but I would say it's fairly objective. Most Genesis fans here would say these albums represent their best period, so you're bound to get favourable comments. Wait till you get on to the later stuff!

As for the second one, I don't even know who it is.

I#m not a big fan of the Genesis one either, I think it's a bit unfair to Nursery Cryme which I find even better than foxtrott (just my opinion).

Yeah definitely. I don't find one weak song on Nursery Cryme not to mention
that the writer implied that theres a couple. I think a slightly more extensive
review should be done.

Over the coming months we will look at the Band Bios and try to freshen them up.

I guess at the early stage of the archives development just having a bio in place was more important than considerations of quality.

Why not submit a Band Bio to myself,Maani,EL,UI, or Garion?

If it is better than the one in place we will add it.
