I deliberately left out jazzz drummers in my list, else they would have crowded it. Vander and Neumeier have a lot of jazz experience. Vander has his own jazz trio and quartet, Neumeier began his career as drummer in the Irene Schweizer trio. Burchard certainly knows how to play jazz too, as you can see in video clips of Embro. There is a very good one with Roman Bunka on guitar, Dave King on bass and Christian Burchard on drums.
All three are horribly underrated musicians here (or probably just too little known); they never appear in any polls about their instruments though they definitely should. Just watch this clip:

Pip Pyle
Bill Bruford (I listen to KC, not really any Yes)
Carl Palmer
Guy Evans
John Weathers
John Densmore (always like his style a lot)
Nick Mason

I also like a lot of Zappa's drummers, but don't really know who they are...

No mention of Haake? Kollias? Hoglan? Carl-Michael (back when he could walk)? A bit more obscure, but Tomás Corn?

I'm partial to metal drummers.
