the wors music is traditional Norwegian and Swedish dance-bands or gas-stations music as we call it since it is mostly sold on gas-station and only rednecks are bying it
I popped by this thread originally just to share my disdain for rap and hip-hop, but this signature made me laugh coffee out of my nose all over my keyboard! Nice work!

Indie.
Emo.
Rap/Hip-hop
Pop is also quite terrible. Though I do have a soft spot for 80s pop...so I technically cant vote for that. Though todays pop....*shivers*

Emo-Crunk kidcore, I think.
Is that something like Brokencyde? If so, I agree.
Pretty much exactly like BrokeNCYDE. In fact it inspired it, though methinks I should have called it Screamo-Emo-Crunk kidcore.
As for rockin' hardcore kidcore, Black Out Band is so awesome, it won a Grammy. Not bad for 11 or so year olds. I think I was thirteen before I got my first Hammy.

Cumbia is ugly music, but "simply" that. Reggaeton on the other hand, is complete crap.

I went with rap, but like many other people mentioned, I don't know the difference between hip-hop and rap.
Mainstream pop... well, yeah, current stuff sucks, but since I like some old mainstream pop, I can't vote for that (gimme some Blossom Dearie anytime )

By "Mainstream pop" are we talking the most mainsteam of the mainstream, where the "artist" doesn't even write their own music and is pretty much backed by a bunch of goons with money? I would assume so.
The most perfect definition of mainstream pop that could be aspired to by man
Even that genre is much better than things like reggaeton or tex-mex. If you think of it rationally, pop music, that one you talk about that is a product, is specifically made to please. Musically, all its ingredients are MADE TO PLEASE YOUR BRAIN. The reasons Harry mentions are almost totally subjective and need cognitive processes to come to. The music you really dislike is that one which you don't have to think of reasons to dislike, the one that makes you feel like eating your least favorite food.

Post-grunge, pop-punk, and smooth jazz are the unholy trio. At least the worst mainstream dance-pop can induce a sense of despair that is sometimes desirable; for example, Just Dance by Lady GaGa. However, most of what is called "classic rock" is pretty awful.
It scares that that you've actually heard Lady Gaga.
The radio in public places, and I know who it is because I look up the objects of my hatred.
