I also suggested Olympic for Crossover. Particulary for their albums Holidays on Earth, The Street and Laboratory (Prázdniny na Zemi, Ulice a Laboratoř).

Well, you can always try this: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=51596 look for Ukraine and PA shows that your country lists 8 bands. It's great resource. And if it's not enough for you, write to this guy: His name is Igor and he's from Ukraine as well. I hope he'll help you more than I can. Marty |

Oh, so after all these months, Klar can shine again. Hail the great Keishiro and his fellow knights. :-) thanks About Václavek, he collaborated / did these albums:
With bolded ones are already here on PA and underlined DS will maybe get on PA. He did more, but it's not updated I suppose. Edited by Marty McFly - September 06 2010 at 13:55 |

Hi! I'm from Unfortunately, I
don’t know any Ukrainian prog-band =( Accept one which is called Obiimy Doschu
(Обійми Дощу). However they
play mostly doom-metal (but call themselves a prog-band anyway ) I know
there are plenty of prog-bands in Seriously, I’ve
got a question for you guys: does anybody know where I can find the latest info
about prog rock events, I mean some websites or something (in English preferably)
with news devoted to the Prog? Thank you |
|||
You can follow my blog here prog-n-post The blog is in russian but still you're able to download prog rock music free there ;)

Speaking about Olympic, they have the album trilogy: Holidays On Earth, The Street and The Laboratory. The music is very close to Progressive Metal, Symphonic Rock. But indeed, they got popularity in the late 60s as Big Beat band.

Some time ago, I saw one guy informally suggesting Olympic. You know the same thing as I do, Olympic are Pop Rock, nebo taky bigbít hudba, but simply not Prog. But I was curious and listened album Ulice, which sounds little bit better, but I'm still not sure if they're Prog enough to get here. They have better albums, worse albums, but some of them are more Prog, some are not. Which ones I should listen to ? Švehlík - Stehlík - MCH Band, what's the relationship between these bands ? I saw last week's edition of Bigbít and it was about all these weird groups, Extempore, Žabí hlen, Švehlík ... very nice episode. |

I don't think Olympic should be on the list.I would rather see there CK Vocal,Flamengo and more radical bands like Mch Band,Extempore or Svehlík. |

So you know the good ones. Indeed, our country's music scene was quite big, despite all attempts to cease it. It's not bad even now, but 69-89 is somehow better than 90-10

There were so many professional Prog rock bands in the former Czechoslovakia. My favourites: Synkopy & Oldřich Veselý |

^ Except obvious choice of Poland. But I'm already working on beating Poland with PA artists per capita :-) EDIT: And as I can see, it has been done. Poland has 38.000.000 for 92 bands You do the math. But Mr. O, why do you think that Czech Republic is the most Progressive country from the former Eastern Block ? You know some of our artists ? :-) |

The best Prog album from Romania is Sfinx - Zalmoxe. I think Czech Republic is the most Progressive country from the former Eastern Block. Edited by Mr. O - August 07 2010 at 10:23 |
