You're missing out on one of Camel's best albums if you lost interest in them after 1976. Smile

The Story of Camel - Lunacy and Cigarettes (2003 documentary)

All alone and all together
Every day, come what may
By the time we find each other
We can live, we can die
And nothing stops the river as it flows by...

An album I loved when it came out but only ended up only playing Side 2 (never Side 1) for a decade or so. Loved the album cover. Love "Lunar Sea" to this day. The rest can be nice occasionally.

A band of which I usually liked their music but never loved more than a couple songs from any album. I liked them enough to keep collecting their albums through the 1980s but have only gone back to listen to their 1990s and later releases lately--with only Rajaz impressing me much.

Camel, surely one of my favorite all-time bands although I disagree on your album rating, especially Rain Dances and Rajaz, except for Moonmadness.

I was a late bloomer and I didn't hear Moonmadness until the year of 1980 when I bought it in Philadelphia at a record shop called Third Street Jazz And Rock . Up to that point I had been listening to Mirage which I bought in 74' as an import on the Deram label.

Moonmadness intrigued me and I especially liked side 2 of the LP which featured the three tracks "Another Night", "Airborne" and "Lunar Sea". I was living in a kind of retreat house by the woods during that time. I was making good money traveling the road in the music business and I was able to live off that nest egg in a retreat house where I blasted Moonmadness in the evenings. 😃..beautiful times

Moonmadness was the first Camel album I ever bought and one of my earliest prog albums, nearly forty years before I started buying Genesis and Pink Floyd albums. Smile

I dont know why some people ignore RAJAZ easily. This is a great album.

I am a Camel huge fan and IMO they deserve more than what they got from Prog fans

YouTube links can be as nebulous as a desert Mirage which blow away on the wind like Dust and Dreams, so here they are again, all freshly repaired and replaced with A Nod and a Wink towards a Camel album that's making it's first appearance on YouTube in a long long time. I've also taken the liberty of downgrading the Nude album to a 4-star rating, so I'm Breathless with anticipation to see what you think, but if you disagree, then just put it down to a touch of Moonmadness. Smile

Moonmadness was the last Camel album I really enjoyed. It's probably joint fave with Mirage. The first 4 were classic prog overall. I think they lost something special after that, and their jazzy outputs became like bland musical wallpaper for the rest of the decade. I don't mind some of the later albums.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Camel have that magical balance between being tastefully mellow and more demanding complex parts. Works for me.
