Per capita means that for example when country Germany has about 430 bands here and its population is about 81 million, then for every 183.000 people, there is one Prog band. Numbers are rough though, but they illustrate well what I'm trying to tell.
The bigger country is, the better condition is for Prog (assuming that country has relatively free, democratic society). So small country like Czech Republic is quite handicaped to something like Germany.
I don't hope that there will ever be 430 bands from Czech Republic on ProgArchives, but I can't help but notice that one year ago, in 2009, there were 20 Czech bands. Now, we have 32 bands here. This spring, I helped with listening Czech music, doing research on my home's music scene, suggesting bands, finding samples (myspace, youtube, etc), gathering information, writing some biographies and writing also a lot of reviews for Czech albums.
It's important for me, so I do care. Cooperating with few people who knows something about Czech scene too.
My dream is to put number of our bands up to let's say 60. Do you think it's possible ? It shouldn't be so difficult, as Czech Republic is quite unexplored territory.
