My thought too.  One of the strangest albums in my collection.  But really good too.  My favorite of the 3 Kingdom Come albums.

I gave it 5 stars as well. Love the live version of Time Captives that Hawkwind does with Brown singing on it. Spaced Out In London is the recording that it's on.
Wow, I didn't know that.  Time Captives is the coolest.  Question though - it sounds to me like they're singing "Time Captains" in the song, and not "Captives".

The Guru Guru album is great other than the album cover.  I've also heard Kobaia.  I've heard both good and bad things about Guapo, but I've not yet had the chance to check them out.  Maybe one of these days.

Well Guapo can get pretty experimental although on Five Suns there's not a lot of that. I've only heard this one and Black Oni, the latter of which i had a hard time getting into.

Here's a funny story although you had to be there i guess. But at Thanksgiving my Brother in law and his wife were over and he was drinking quite a bit but i wasn't paying a lot of attention because i was having a good time too. Anyway we had the stereo on and he comes over and says "Play Kobaia" as he's weaving forwards and backwards.LOL Anyway i'm thinking to myself "He's wasted !" and tried to explain that the others at the party would not appreciate Magma like we do. I talked to him the next day and he doesn't remember asking me that or even leaving the house.Shocked  He had to get up at 5am the next morning for work and i did feel sorry for his self inflicted wounds.
Love that story John!! Oh boy.... I experience that same sort of feeling each and every time I go and visit one of my old high school buddies. Problem is that he doesn't need to be drunk to say something like that. I seriously doubt if he has any idea of what 'real' people listen to hahah! Take last Easter for instance. We throw this huge get together with all kinds of people, beautiful girls and the works - most of them into modern electronica and perhaps the odd Beatles track. All through dinner this guy continues to put on Bubu's Anabelas!! I sat next to two rather delicious women who had severe problems holding a simple conversation due to the maniacal reeds storming through the room like a drunk mariachi on rollerskates. When they finally asked him to change the music, because they couldn't think, he went ahead and popped on Tago Mago..... Gotta love that hahah!!! Got me dancing at least. Anyway, I don't think he knows how crazy some of the music we listen to sounds like to other people. The only time he did, is when the both of us decided to hold a New Years eve party, and we decided to put Trout Mask Replica on repeat for the entire duration of the cooking process. We had a rack of lamb in the oven for some 3.5 hours. He didn't know the good captain, but boy did he ever get acquainted with him! That, he found crazy, and he even mentioned something about changing the music before our guests arrived.... I changed it after the fourth guest. Gotta have some fun right?

Why do i never get an invite to these parties of yours ? And who said you could change your avatar !!   LOL

Man i'd love to be at a party where all that was played was albums from the zarpek genres. It would be a blast just wondering what was coming on next. Great stories there David. Hey maybe i need to play Troutmask Replica over and over for a few hours to finally appreciate it.Big smile

Hey we would certainly enjoy having you! Maybe the next time we can meet halfway or something eh? I guess that is Greenland hahah! What a blast! Icebergs, polar bears, Danish beer, a little Buddha and some Bubu. I'll get on it straight away!

Trout Mask Replica is a lot easier to get into, when you first start to hear patterns reemerging from the tracks - even if they're divided by several cuts. Although knowing your tastes John, maybe this one just isn't for you? I am however willing to perform a brainwash on you for the sake of experimentation

Oh, and I just needed to change avatar. If it's any consolation, it's also a painting by Max Ernst. I'd like to think that he paints similarly to the way I talk...

Magma without a doubt! Mind you I of course haven't listened to every single album on that list, but Kobaia is the album that started all that Zeuhl madness. Big smile

I'll give the first Kraftwerk a vote.  Lots of great albums on here, many have been favorites at one point or another, but as others have said, most specifically Ruckzuck is such a catchy tune!

Yes there are several versions of that song on that tour with Brown on vocals. There's a different mellower version where the keys somewhat takes the back seat and the guitar takes the lead. Excellent version, it works really well. Look it up on the tube.

Yes they are singing  "Time Captains".

^I don't know Sagi - I've always heard Captives...
Then again, Arthur weren't exactly the poster boy for sober performances - and those taps of acid may just've kicked in while recording this magnificent trackBig smile

The one I'm not that familiar with is the Haikara.  Of the others there's lots to love. but since Kobaia is my favourite album by one of my very favourite bands, it's a fairly straight-forward choice.

Haikara's self titled album is one of my all time favorites, so it easily gets my vote.
