I saw a mention of the solo from Sound Chaser from Yes. Totally forgot that one, that song has some insane guitar work!

Firth of the Fifth of Genesis really owns a mention.

Fripp on Babies On Fire.

Thanks for that one!  I was going back & forth on which Fripp solo to pick, but that is my favorite single one for its pure, frenetic energy!

I actually did this one live with one of my bands ("Casual Crowbar," a Spinal Tap cover band)!   I didn't get close to Fripp's solo, but I also sang the lead, and it was a GREAT song to do live!!

Better than "The Everlasting Hills, Part 1" from Veil of Gossamer?  Because that is an absolutely stunning guitar solo (for nearly 5 minutes...)

I haven't heard Veil of Gossamer yet, but it's on my list.
I suppose I should be ashamed of myself for not listening to it yet, because, as a guitar player, I should probably listen to the solo album from one of the best guitar players in the world.
Is it on Itunes, so I can immediately put it on my MP3 player and listen to it backstage while I'm acting in Twelfth Night this weekend?

Oh, can't believe I forgot to mention Greg Massi's (maudlin of the Well) sublime solo on "Another Excerpt: Keep Light Near You, Even When Dying."  He's another guitarist who, like Dave Bainbridge, is one of the best in the business but gets almost no attention paid to him.

Sorry, I don't "do" ITunes.  I got the CD from Amazon.com - bought it "new" from the "cheap list" (not Amazon directly).  It came in less than three days.  Worth having the CD to read the liner notes...
