My whole perception of reality has been rattled.

I propose another, quite similar poll:

"Yes" Progressive Rock
1) Yes
2) No
3) Lyrically, yes but not musically
4) Musically, yes but not lyrically

I guess the OP made this distincion on the poll, because on his previous thread (the same theme, but without the poll), some people answered just this, that the album was progressive according to the lyrics, but not according to the music (which I particularly don't agree, but then it's their opinion.

Well, I certainly didn't Stern Smile

I clearly stated:

Also,

And,

Of course it's progresive maybe not songs alone but the whole concept with emotional lyrics gives this album a very progressive side so yes it's prog
And,

. But the level of experimentation that Pink Floyd represents to the common "rock" or "pop" music, both in lyrics and musical composition, is enough to reckon them as "progressive rock".
So, there you have it - the four people in that thread who mentioned the lyrics and none of them said the music wasn't progressive.

Wow, shocked at the number of folks out there that claim they don't care for Kansas "The Wall"! Oh, I mean Floyd boys. I think "The Trial" alone is an incredible composition both in music & lyrics. Ever try to shuffle the Wall? Don't do it man! The Wall IMO has just 1 maybe 2 too many songs. Talent? 5 stars. Lyrics? 5 stars. Story? 5 stars. Vocals? 5stars. Instrumentation? 4.8.  Overkill on certain sections?----definately.

Why are you running away........?
Well, there it is. (Amadeus)

In terms of "amount-of-progness-based-on-popular-ideals-of-prog-rock":

Most other prog bands > Lyrics > Music > Most other rock bands.

LOL
I look up, I'm almost blinded

by the warmth of what's inside me

and the taste that's in my soul,

but I'm dead inside as I stand alone...
