Topic: Crime Of The Century/Still Life (Opeth) Posted: February 21 2014 at 07:12 |
Once again, 2 similarly rated albums (both highest in their respective sub-genre) but very different musically. All I'm asking, which is better?
For me, Crime Of The Century wins without a doubt - one of my all-time favourites - but Still Life is still excellent for me, and the only Progressive Death Metal album I've ever been able to really get into
Looking forward to the results!

Crime of the Century. Never cared for death growls in my music. Or in my house. Or on the street I live on. No sir, no growling, thank you.

Both are good. I prefer Still Life.
Supertramp are an odd group for me. They wrote some great prog/pop songs, but for some reason I can only tolerate their sound for so long, before I start seeing red and wanting to break things. I don't know why.
That said, I'm the only person I actually know outside PA who thinks Dreamer is excellent, and not a steaming pile of horse manure, which seems to be the consensus of my friends..

Haven't heard Crime, so no vote. It wouldn't be impossible for it to top Still Life once I hear it, but good gravy is that a high watermark it would have to pass. Still Life is perfect.
