Once again, 2 similarly rated albums (both highest in their respective sub-genre) but very different musically. All I'm asking, which is better? Smile

For me, Crime Of The Century wins without a doubt - one of my all-time favourites - but Still Life is still excellent for me, and the only Progressive Death Metal album I've ever been able to really get into Big smile

Looking forward to the results! Tongue

I like them both.

But I prefeer Still Life, has a fascinating concept and an instrumental that brings me to EARGASM

Crime of the Century. Never cared for death growls in my music. Or in my house. Or on the street I live on. No sir, no growling, thank you.

Both are good. I prefer Still Life.

Supertramp are an odd group for me. They wrote some great prog/pop songs, but for some reason I can only tolerate their sound for so long, before I start seeing red and wanting to break things. I don't know why.

That said, I'm the only person I actually know outside PA who thinks Dreamer is excellent, and not a steaming pile of horse manure, which seems to be the consensus of my friends..

Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

Haven't heard Crime, so no vote. It wouldn't be impossible for it to top Still Life once I hear it, but good gravy is that a high watermark it would have to pass. Still Life is perfect.

I'm not anti-metal at all, but have always had trouble appreciating Opeth.  So am voting Tramp.

Good! It's a great tune, very clever and quirky. I've liked it since I was a child..

I haven't heard the Opeth album, so no vote from me. But I think that if I prefer any Still Life, it would be the one by Van der Graaf Generator.

^VDGG is indisputably my favorite prog group ever, and their Still Life is a bona fide masterpiece. But that being said, the one Opeth did is still better by a handy margin IMO. You never know til you listen!

Supertramp for me; I've never been able to get into Opeth...

Crime of the century is almost flawless - I do like Opeth but in this battle it's not even close...

Supertramp for me as well. Never really warmed up to the prog side of Opeth, whereas I really dig Orchid.

Oh and btw, I thought everybody enjoyed Dreamer? I love it to death myself.

How is "better" defined? Or, given the likelihood of incomprehension.... let's try, "understood?"

So you think your schooling's phoney. I guess it's hard not to agree. You say it all depends on money,  And who is in your family tree.
