In all seriousness Numan should be reconsidered. i just heard his latest and it IS prog! Beleive me, listen to this...

awesome isnt it! Like NIN in fact Trent Reznor loves Numans stuff and vice versa - they are similar styles. NIN are here...
I have every album of the mighty Numan , my all time fave male artist and a lot of his stuff is definitely prog.
I mention albums such as Pure, Sacrifice, Exile and Beserker for a start. Replicas is proggy and so is Pleasure Principle. The latest album is prog!
The Electronic/Gothic/Industrial genre has prog elements.
I think Numan deserves a place in PR and it would open a few minds here who think Numan is all Cars and Are Friends Electric. That is not the case. Numan is an incredibly prolific artist who influenced my tastes in music and many other proggers I believe. Listen to his albums and the prog influences are there.
He is definitely industrial now but used to be electronica and even jazz at one stage - he has evolved from year to year and survived 4 decades despite critical sniping!
I have read all the comments on other Numanish threads and nothing convinces me that he does not deserve a polace in the archives - his influence on music is phenomenal and deserves recognition.
I will write the bio if you like............ I love all his music as you can see. I have followed his wor since 1979 when i was only a teen.

For the record, I was around when Numan was big in the early 1980's. The Tubeway Army hit Are Friends Electric was, and still is, one of my favourite pop electronic songs. It's great, and I really like a lot of what he has done.
But prog? Absolutely not, under no circumstances whatsoever.
At this rate, we really will have Michael Jackson on the site because HiStory was a concept album off a sort.
I don't mean to be rude (honest), but I really do think some of the proposed additions are going beyond what could reasonably be considered sensible.

Queen's Roger Taylor played drums on two tracks from Dance, and tom toms on another track from the same album. According to PA Queen is prog related. => Gary Numan is prog related. QED You can clear him away for addition.

Phil Collins performed a Genesis track on Face Value, so that makes him prog related at least, surely? 98.9% of members on the forum would happily garrot me for even daring to suggest such a thing. In the aftermath and turmoil of adding Nine Inch Nails I was waiting for the right timing to suggest Gary Numan's addition to PA myself. He belongs here.
