Anyone think its a play on words....i.e.....stunning c**ts?

My brother brought it up, hes not a prog fiend, thought they might have that as a double meaning or some joke...clever if they did

Considering Caravan's sense of humor, it wouldn't shock me...

Caravan has always had a ribald sense of humor, so it was absolutely intentional.

This is very strange.  I've always thought that Cunning Stunts was a play on words which actually meant the raunchy abovementioned term, but I thought it was too secretive of a play on words and when I thought about whether they would actually intend it, I thought it was a ridiculous notion.  The other day I was actaully sitting in my room and I thought about what Stunning C**ts would actually look like and a hilarious picture came into my mind but I thought it was wayyy to obscure to be intended.  When I first got ahold of the album, the play on words was instantly gotten by me, and whenever I thought about the album I would think about it in the alternate form.  This post proves my sanity!  I thought I was the only one who ever even thought about this sort of thing.  It's my second favorite Caravan album as well.

Well, everybody knows that "If You See Kay" by April Wine was a song about a guy looking for his long lost girlfriend, and look how that song was misunderstood.  So, you never know what people with their minds in the gutter can do to twist around something innocent and beautiful.......

Praise the Lord!!!  I mean really Clem get out of the dark ages, next you will be burning witches!

Of course Cunning Stunts is a play on words, just look at the cover with the mirror and as a previous archivist said....Caravan have a sense of humour.

This is a very old joke. I was originally told it as "what's the difference between Racquel Welch and a tightrope walker?", which shows how long ago it was.

This album was originally going to be called 'Toys in the Attic' but Aerosmith got there first so they named it 'Cunning Stunts'.  Not my favourite Caravan album, much prefer their earlier stuff.

Their best album name of course is 'If I could do it all over again, i'd do it all over you'.

Actually had you read my review , you would have gotten confirmation of this!

I showed the record to someone who had absolutely no knowledge of Caravan's humour , and he just laughed it off so hard.

Pye Hasting really has got a dirty old man mind >> If I could do it over , I'd do it all over you. >>>The Dog , The Dog , he's at it again etc....

For Girls's original cover was to have a naked pregnant woman sleeping. Look at the inside gatefold of Waterloo Lily (and the brothel scene on the outside cover) and the vtitle is the name of a famous hooker by Waterloo station.

Referring to the quote in your signature, Sean, it is of course also true that there is ABSOLUTELY no double-meaning in "Zero the Hero offering the Witch Shakti Yoni's (sic!) pussy some fish and chips", as is mentioned as explanation to the story on the album cover of Gong's "Angel's Egg".

Good point my dear! And the  ghost face ready to eat the pussy up in the sky on the album cover is also a good reference!
