King Crimson deserve this title!

But of course the tournament was always flawed....

Thanks for organizing this tournament, UndercoverBoy! It has been a wild ride, and I am quite pleased with the result (although sad that Jethro Tull didn't do better.)

Are we absolutely sure about the Genesis v. Yes thing? Wink

It would have been interesting to see who won in a more spirited competion between Pete Hamill and VDGG. Tongue

It has been a lot of fun though. Thank you Undercover Boy.
....

Now for the litmus test. Go and ask a non-prog fan who the best prog band is...

Even if I can't stand King Crimson, I can't deny them their influence on the rest of prog. Great tournament

The only "big" band I would have been happier with winning would have been Yes...beyond that, my favorites pretty much got knocked out quickly. LOL

These ARE my two favorite prog bands, and it's a very hard choice. A year or so ago, I'd probably say Crimson. Nowadays it's Floyd all the way.

The only KC album I truly love is In the Court...but I like almost all of the Pink Floyd-related work. After voting in numerous rounds previously, I'd probably vote for Floyd at this final stage, but apparently, now I'm unworthy and cannot vote. -__-

This is the best forum I have ever attended Hug.

I second this. I'm a Floyd fan and I'm a bit disappointed but not so much...
It has been so funny that I propose to repeat it after one year.

And we all must give our compliments to Undercover Boy for the idea and for how he managed the whole thing.

Please the admins give him more Star

Even if somebody doesn't like negative polls, after this "top of the progs" we could look for the worst prog band ever.
I'd be curious to see at which round Yes and Genesis would go out... Smile
