Before loving Genesis, I could have tell ya Gates of Delirium or Tarkus or Echoes.

But I'm sure the 1st price is for Supper's Ready. 2nd and very very close, Thick as a Brick pt 1.

Kohntarkosz

Ignore the people who say Attahk.  It might be their most accessible but it's nowhere near the level of their classics and, ultimately, you need to hear MDK, Kohntarkosz, and LIve/Hhai (well, at least two of them) to be a fan of what people associate with the name Magma.  It's best just to start with the classics.  They're really not that inaccessible, especially Kohntarkosz.  If you're brave, just get MDK.

Epitaph by King Crimson Is by far the best song I've ever heard.

Not 100% sure, but it's definitely Floyd.

Probably Shine On You Crazy Diamond (both tracks, all parts) or Sheep or Dogs.

A Plague of Lighthouse Keepers - VDGG

...that song takes me to a place no other song ever has. A dark, surreal but strangely very beautiful place.

I'd have to say it's my fav Prog song of all time.
I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity...

For me it is Genesis - The Cinema Show/Aisle of Plenty - pure genius and emotionally touches me like no other song.

"Music is the Wine that fills the cup of Silence"

I have abandoned the idea of a 'Top Song Ever' long, long ago. But here are some of my favourites:

  • Magma - Köhntarkösz, Hhaï
  • Iona - Bi-se I Mo Shuil - Part 2
  • Genesis - Supper's Ready
  • VdGG - La Rossa, Childlike Faith in Childhood's End
  • Rush - Xanadu
  • ELP - Tarkus, Karn Evil 9
  • Pink Floyd - Echoes, Shine On
  • Nick Drake - Road, Introduction, 'Cello Song
  • Sweeney's Men - Dreams for Me, Standing on the Shore
  • Saga - No Regrets, No Stranger
