I have always maintained and always will, that In The  Hot Seat is far worse.

I haven't heard Love Beach yet. But to mention some 1 and 2 star albums that I have heard at least once:

Genesis - Abacab
Yes - Tormato
Jethro Tull - Warchild
Rush - Roll the Bones

Although ELP's Love Beach definitely deserves its place in prog opprobrium (LOL), I'd have to say it has stiff competition in GG's "Giant for a Day."

BTW, I have always felt that Abacab and Tormato get a far worse rep than they deserve.  As for Systematic Chaos, I'm not sure if I was listening to the same album as those who listed it, but I absolutely love that album!

Peace.

IQ--Nomzamo
DREAM THEATER--Falling into infinity ( ok. It's not a horrible album but it was a disappointing listen given what they were doing sound wise with images&words and Awake. ;)
RUSH--Test For Echo. ( holy sh*t-bags this doesn't work for me sound wise.)
Queensr˙che--everything after PROMISE LAND! Wow. What a Dissapointment Queensr˙che became after Degarmo left. I still cry to this day. :(

Those are the only major disappointments i can think of. To be honest, a lot of the bands I love haven't horribly ever let me down. ;)

Maybe, but I'm not very fond of "Hold Your Fire".

Funnily enough, that's the album that got me into Rush!  Big smile  I like it.

I love Hold Your Fire. But I have played it to death.

Hold your fire is a great listen.
I am with you here. ;)

I love Systematic Chaos too; Black Clouds is the only later DT album I found disappointing.

Maybe not a one particular album comes to mind, but sometimes it's the problem I have with Edgar Froese and TD's latter day work. They melt together, and one sounds like the other, and while it's still TD - it's definitely not the kind of TD I cherish the most. Seems to me, that dear monsieur Froese would do himself some good by taking a long vacation, smoking some weed, pulling the plug to his endless string of albums, - hopefully finding what he seems to have lost nowadays, his patience. He has become so focused on spiralling bleeping melodies, that he's completely forgotten about the slow drones, and the magic of throwing something out there, wondering where it will fall in the music.

Once is all you'll need with Love Beach--if you can make it through it. You'll barely believe it's them. Easily the worst of this list.

Roll the bones- Rush   (I wouldn't call it crap. But I get tired of it with the exception of a couple of songs, too R.E.M.-like if you get what I mean).
Atom Heart Mother- Pink Floyd    (An overrated stinker.  The horns clash and the choir sound amateur, the rest of the album is mediocre especially for Floyd)
Marathon- Santana   (A bit roller disco sounding overall but still a good record. It doesn't feel sexy the way Santana usually does. I love to dance to it now but the first time I heard it, I did cringe at some songs)
For To Next And Not Or- Steve Hillage   (Again, not bad, but way too electro-ish to have the authentic, old school Steve Hillage 'magic')
Drama-Yes   (Initially, it just didn't seem to 'fit', I don't know why, but it just grew on me and it's great, I probably play it least of all Yes albums though, including 90125, B.Gen and A.B.W.H. not just the classics)

Not all of Pink Floyd's albums were masterpieces, particularly Ummagumma (Studio album), Saucerful of Secrets, and The Final Cut. Atom Heart Mother and The Piper at the Gates of Dawn were fine albums but are very overrated.

Genesis-Invisible Touch
Yes-Open Your Eyes
ELP- In the Hot Seat
Jethro Tull-Under Wraps
Queen-Hot Space
King Crimson-Beat

Under Wraps together with Hot Space are the worst of these all.

Dream Theater - The Astonishing and Pink Floyd - The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. I have nothing more to add, two truly atrocious albums.

Atom Heart Mother is my favourite Pink Floyd album, particularly for the AHM suite, which for me is the gretest thing put out by Pink Floyd, but I like Alan's Psychadelic Breakfast a lot too. I think Geesin did an amazing job with what was sent him to put together the AHM suite, and Aldiss did really good work with the choir. Interesting tidbit:

Disagreeing again with a post on Pink Floyd. I think that The Piper at the Gates of Dawn is a terrific debut album, and is one of my particular favourite albums from 1967.
