Both are in my top 5 so I voted genesis becaude pink flyd are winning.

As you have probably guessed by my username I chose Pink Floyd. They have been my second favorite band (nobody tops The Beatles) since I was 11. However, this is a really hard decision, because Genesis is almost tying with Pink Floyd on my bands ranking. I discovered them a little later, but over the years I have become a huge fan of them as well.

QFT, and when paired up with any band. Pink Floyd is fine, but no matter how much you deny it, Genesis is truly the greatest band of all time. Their quality of music is so high during 1970-1977, I can't understand why they don't top everyone's list of the greatest bands of all time.

I respectfully disagree, I think that Pink Floyd's DSOTM and Animals albums were simply perfect in every way, and just about all the others were excellent. As for Genesis, not only is the only one that I really like a lot SEBTP, but I am not a fan of ATOTT or WInd and Wuthering. Then again, we all have differing opinions, and thats what makes the world wonderful Smile

I was being half-way sarcastic in my previous post, so of course there are opinions other than mine. But Genesis is still the best band for me by miles and miles.

Of course I love both bands. But I preferred the Pink Floyd before Dark Side Of The Moon. Genesis always kept my interest up more with each succeeding album even after Peter Gabriel & Steve Hacket left. Both became institutions but Genesis kept the magic going for me.

From the beginning it always was Genesis for me.

Floyd by a long stretch. One of my top 5.
I like Genesis but right now they are at position 22 in my "favourite bands list". Yes I keep freaky computer-generated band positions Smile
