Jeff:
You must be having bad luck finding them because I got Voyage 34, Up the Downstair, and Signify in a store, but it was a used record store that had a tendency for classic rock and prog specialties.

I haven't had any luck in any of the local music shops and retail music stores by me anyways. I can find all of Mr. Akerfeldt's albums no problem however. ... I knew I should have picked up those albums (They had like everything) I saw at the Porcupine Tree concert but noooooo I just had to get the tour shirt.

I found Coma Divine Live and Warszawa (I didn't purchase that one though, I will do if I see it's still there) in my local store. Infact they had Voyage 34 as well. I don't think they had much else though, besides Deadwing (which I've got already).
I really want Lightbulb Sun and a few others as well, especially in remastered format.

Well, before the DT concert in April, I got On the Sunday of Life at the Virgin Megastore (and my friend got Voyage 34, sadly, no Stupid Dream or Lightbulb Sun there though :( ). Mostly Steve messing around in his studio, but it has some great songs like Radioactive Toy and Nine Cats (and Linton Samuel Dawson's hilarious)

Sort of unfair to pick between the two, while they worked together and seem to be friends, they are totally different musically.
Both are great musicians, singers and songwriters, but Wilson definitely edges out Akerfeldt with his work in the studio.
And Wilson is wayyyyyy more prolific,no contest there.

Porcupine Tree has always made waaaay better music than Opeth. The choice is blatent for me because I can't stand Opeth's growling vocals most of the time.
See you in NYC Wilson

According to the PT website, Lightbulb Sun will get the same
"treatment" that Stupid Dream just got, a remastered reissue including
5.1 DVD-A (just arrived for me yesterday ). This will occur sometime after the new album is released, so next year.

All our old stuff should be available in the US through Navarre distribution, but of course I'm disappointed to hear that even one person had trouble finding it, that's not good. Stupid Dream has just been reissued as a 2 disc set, with a 5.1 surround sound mix added to a pristine stereo remaster. Lightbulb Sun will get the same treatment sometime next year - I just need to get around to doing the 5.1.

^^^
Steve, I checked amazon.com and cduniverse.com and both seem to
indicate Lightbulb Sun is only available as import, for over triple the
price as In Absentia or Deadwing, for example.

Excellent, I will patiently wait for this one, Steven! I got the reissue of Stupid Dream a few months back and even in plain ordinary stereo it is one sublime record -would love to be able to hear it one day in surround, too (and the same goes for In Absentia, needless to say!)
Great to have you onboard, hopefully I will get the chance to catch Porcupine Tree performing in Finland sometime in the future.
Oh, and I hope your PM-box isn't overflowing with messages already
Keep up the brilliant work, I love to spend money on pretty much everything you come up with!

From swilson:
But I should say that the most hurtful things I
have ever read about myself have been not from other musicians, but from
reviewers such as yourself. A reviewer's words are more painful precisely
BECAUSE you know that they don't understand what it is like to struggle for
self expression. At least another musician has some kind of right to
criticise, knowing as they do what it takes to get even a slight foothold in
this most heartbreaking of industries.
If these aren't sobering words for anyone on here who stands in harsh judgement of people like Wilson and Neal Morse and Roine Stolt, et al. who have no concept of their talent and struggle then I don't know what it will take.

Awesome! I think I'll order Stupid Dream online (at least that's at a reasonable price...I love Porucpine Tree don't get me wrong, but I'm poor and $30 something dollars is a bit steep for an album) soon enough but I need to start saving up first (went on a Yes spending spree.....wallet is down to zippo)

Look at the S. Wilson influence and sucking-up in this thread. Just because he's around it's now 38 to 50??????? What the hell? Vote for your honest opinion, no one knows who you vote for unless you tell them.
