KC. I'm with everyone else.

Camel. I prefer melody. Have never really understood all the hype that is piled onto KC. Sure they were a forerunner of prog music but that, to me, doesn't make it good - not bad either by the way - I just don't revere KC.

King Crimson by a long shot for me. Camel made some good accessible music, but their music has always struck me as severely lacking in certain ways.

You are joking? Camel are a decent band, but even though Crimson only did one album, it's not a fair comparison, Camel pales into insignificance next to 'In the Court of the Crimson King'.

If In The Court of The Crimson King was the only King Crimson album, my vote would easily go to Camel.

Of course King Crimson. That's something that even people not involved in prog appreciate

Camel are full of emotion, KC are emotionless. Not really a competition for me.

I'm glad you gave us an "I love them equally" option, because it was going to kill me to have to choose KC over Camel. Truthfully, KC is probably better, but Camel is so great and so underappreciated

I prefer Camel. Not really interested in which band originated first. It's about the songs both bands made.
Here's my fave 4 star or higher Camel albums:
Camel
Moonmadness
Raindances
Breathless
Nude
Here are my fave 4 star or higher Crimson albums:
Posiedon
Lizard
Larks
Red
3 of perfect pair
I find Camel write better melodies so they get my vote

It's easy for me to decide. I like Camel a good deal, but King Crimson's one of my favorite bands (11th or 12th place or so). Camel's more along the lines of 63rd. For me, that is.

I love the first four and the last two Camel albums, the in between I find it to be very weak... On the other hand, all King Crimson albums are masterpieces to me, well maybe with the exception of Beat... So KC it is...

I look up, I'm almost blinded
by the warmth of what's inside me
and the taste that's in my soul,
but I'm dead inside as I stand alone...

Snow Goose is the only Camel album that really has anything I can sink my teeth into. King Crimson is loved by any self respecting prog fan on the other hand

I'm so mad that you enjoy a certain combination of noises that I don't
