Selling England by the Pound. Too bad Battle of Epping Forest is part of that album.

Very common for proggers like me who in a short time will be in the rest home. I was told over the phone by an old Genesis fanatic friend that the "Genesis Live" had been recently re-released with additional material from the show. I searched Amazon and couldn't find it. Is it a box set? Watcher of the Skies, Get Em' Out By Friday, Return of the Giant Hogweed, Musical Box and The KNife was the original track listing. What has been added to the show?

I don't know about a version of "Genesis Live" with extra songs... but I have the Live Box-set, and that one has Genesis Live, and another live album, Live at the Rainbow (otherwise unavailable, as far as I know) which includes many songs that were not included on Genesis Live, among them "Dancing with the Moonlit Knight", "Cinema Show" and "Supper's Ready". As a matter of fact, I kind of liked the Rainbow album better than Genesis Live, and "Dancing with the Moonlit Knight" is so much better than the studio version. I find Collins much more fun to listen live than on studio, too.

I will be looking for this! Thank you.

but Battle of Epping Forest lyrics are hilarious and Gabriel singing that bit about Harold Demure is so funny.
They flutter behind you your possible pasts,
Some bright-eyed and crazy, some frightened and lost.

My favourite too but I consider the Battle of Epping Forest an essential part of that album.

That's the best song on the album!

I am a Foxtrot guy, but it is a close race with SEBTP.  Although I find myself listening to Then There Were Three quite often...

I think it's because it's a fantastic albumWink

Hear, hear!

My own favorite remains "Foxtrot," but I also believe "And Then There Were Three" is under-appreciated.   I saw the tour (the first one with Daryl Stuermer) and they were excellent!

Almost every single track (except "Harold the Barrel", that is) is just ... beyond ... beyond!

^ It is an incredible work by the band. I still believe that no band has surpassed Genesis in terms of prog output. Even listening to Trespass still gives me goosebumps after 40 years.

Approve [with great, freaking great pride] Approve I used to hate it; now I just love it. LOL

Anyway, in case if anybody gives a flying crap about the current scores, well ... here's a rough tally (because I was freaking bored):

1970 - Trespass - 3
1971 - Nursery Cryme - 8
1972 - Foxtrot - 12
1973 - Selling England by the Pound - 14
1974 - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway - 9
1976 - A Trick of the Tail - 11
1977 - Wind and Wuthering - 8
1980 - Duke - 5
1981 - Abacab - 1
1983 - Genesis - 3
1986 - Invisible Touch - 1

I really dig the logo they had for this, Foxtrot and Live.

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway.

Foxtrot comes close, but nothing beats the lamb. Anything without Gabriel is miles away from anything with Gabriel, and yes that DOES include the debut.
Leave the past to burn,
At least that's been his own
