There exists a class of assertions which cannot be proven, yet remain overwhelmingly likely to be true. While lacking the tidy cleanliness of solid facts, doubting the truth of these assertions is fruitless- as proof depends on variables beyond one's grasp. Therefore it is reasonable to treat them as if they were true, in order to use them in further proofs or discard them as unnecessary to our epistemology.

Interestingly enough, many of our scientific advances rest upon such assertions.

The point is that we do not require absolute verification if the phenomena observed consistently behaves in a manner consistent with our suppositions. Only if there is a deviance from the pattern are we required to reexamine the available information and revise our beliefs.

Of course, there is another option: when the phenomena ceases to be meaningful or interesting, one can abandon examination altogether and devote one's time to more worthwhile questions.

I'm with you as far as 'exists'....

You won't believe this,James but I though that very same thing just 30 minutes ago while I was vacuuming. I'm not kidding,it's really true! It's not one of your garden variety, run of the mill thoughts one unusally has while vacuuming,so how is this for an absolutely amazing and Twilight Zone-theme-tune-inducing-coincidence? What can I say except: Great minds think alike? Although, the whole supposition might just conceivably be complete bollocks,I'm never quite sure with my mind.

It's shocking behaviour

Lincs too.

You're probably right- if you really were KE9 trying to pretend you were someone else, you'd try to conceal it a little better. Someone would have to be ridiculously moronic to think that anyone would be fooled by simply changing their nickname and keeping every other telltale obvious element. Or, I suppose they just might not care whether they were 'spotted', and that seems...well, pathological and sad, really.

So if you are KE9, you're both a fool and a poor actor, or desperately in need of attention. If not, then with all due apologies: please stop posting denials and say something of interest.

I agree; either whoever it is is trying to make us believe she is Karn Evil 9, or it's a hell of a coincidence. It's no problem though; there aren't any squabbles (yet!).
