None that I can think of when I wrote that, but take a pic of her and imagine her without the makeup and hair and look at frankie the same way.  It scared me.

You certainly know how to charm a lady Nens!

I can't see it personally.

Each to their own.

Saga... That whole 'Chapter' idea is brilliant in effect, a 'Concept Band'. Shame about the horrific music!

Avril Lavigne is pretty hot, and she does play her own instruments........as far as I can tell.

I hate all punk

So you've listened to every punk band ever, then? I hate it when people put down an entire genre like that, especially considering you probably haven't listened to very much punk at all.

Hey Ty,  where did he put it down.  He  just hates it, why would you listen much to something you hate.  I mean the thread is about musical dislikes.......

Yea, it's a matter of personal taste, I heard much of "classic" punk and can say that I hate it. Plus their attitude stinks and they put down and generalise prog much worse. Read this thread on a punk forum. Did they hear more prog than I heard punk?

Stop linking to that stupid thread, please . It didn't prove anything the first bajillion times and it still doesn't, except that there are lots of idiots in the world.

Anyways, I know it's a matter of personal taste, but you can't possibly hate bands you haven't even heard of. That's just closed-mindedness any way you look at it. You probably can't even name any punk bands beyond The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, et al., so why bother saying you hate them?

Back to the original question!

Peter Gabriel leaving Genesis and going on to bigger and better things. Gabriel era Genesis were so overated!

I really don't like Elton John. However "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and "Blue Moves" have good progressive moments

The Darkness have a good sense of humour 'one way ticket to Helen Back'

Genesis have given me some foot-tapping moments over the years

Again, Phil Collins -

Call him what you like (and I frequently do...), but there's no doubt the man is a superb drummer; if Genesis ever do get back together, there's nobody I'd rather see behind the kit.

Pallas - hmmm - OK (deep breath): although I hate their music, there's no doubt they're all good musicians, with good musical ideas.

I always put down boring old Pink Floyd. But really, the wide-spread popularity of DSOTM had some kind of (minimally) positive effect on some bands music - bands that I do like. I see traces of DSOTM sequencing and segueways on Genesis The Lamb Lies Down Broadway.

The "needles and pins" ending of "Broadway Melody [...]" and then its transition to "Cuckoo Coccoon" is just one example. I also think "The Waiting Room" is Genesis emulating a Floyd-y sound.

I don't care for Pink Floyd music as a whole, but some of what they did was pioneering in some ways.

Maybe, you're right, but I don't think it holds much. DSOTM is a "different" type of album for PF, while TLLDOB music isn't much different (in composition) from previous album by Genesis.
And then, as I said, maybe you're right - as long as there's just one year of difference between them.
And them, IMHO, TLLDOB is *much* better than DSOTM.
