I'm in a slight mood now.  Damn.

So apologies if Alex took offence at those comments.  I'm a wee bit bitter about nothing at all, to be honest. LOL

Erm...

This image amuses me:

Jupiter WASP-17b

WASP-17b is supposed to be 1.5-2 times as large as Jupiter.  So why does this image show it as bigger than Jupiter?

Or have I missed something?

Plus it's plain white.  Why did they ever bother with this image? LOL

Brahms Symphony #1 = glorious piece of music.  I picked up Symphonies 1 - 4 from the library.  Are they all this good?  Has all this prog listening made me better able to appreciate classical music, or is this just real lively compared to some of the other symphonies that I have heard.

I hope you're agreeing with me here and not spotted some gross error in my words. LOL

As large as

That says to me it's smaller...

Surely if it's bigger, they'd say "it's 1.5-2 times larger than"? or something similar.

Hmmm... I'm confusing myself now. LOL

No man.

As large as = 1x
Twice as large as = 2x
Half as large as = 0.5x

Oh well.  Here - radius of WASP 17-B is 1.75 times the radius of Jupiter.

Now that does make sense. LOL

It did until you changed it... I think it's the Of that throws me.

WASP-17b: radius 1.74 RJ
Jupiter: Polar radius 66,854 ± 10 km
10.517 Earths

Erm... they're in different measurements.

I mean the unit of measurement.

WASP-17b is in RJ (Jupiter Radius -- I want a km radius for it)
Jupiter is in km and Earths

Yes but I want its actual radius, not its radius in comparison to Jupiter. LOL

1.75*66854 = 116,994.5 km (using Jupiter's polar radius)
