Well I wouldn't mind a metal quotient as well.  I don't want it too post-rock.

I can't either.

If it wasn't half-term and my mother was off for the week, I'd watch it tomorrow.

Natten's Madrigal has nothing to do with post-rock. After it they rejected metal entirely. A Quick Fix of Melancholy is also a nice orchestral type thing.

Cool.  I don't mind post-metal but a lot of post-rock annoys me.

So it sounds like I may like some Ulver.  I'll see about getting something by then.

I need some Bohren und der Club of Gore first though.

Well Ulver haven't done anything that's post-rock, so I'd say you're safe.

Also, if you're interested in Ulver, get some Coil albums instead, like Horse Rotorvator or the Ape of Naples, which are both infinitely superior to latter-day Ulver.

Speaking of Ulver.  Where's the best place to start with them?

Bergtatt.  Then Nattens Madrigal.  All their electronic stuff is mediocre or worse.

Stale, bare-bones, production, with unnecessary reverb.

If I like enough of the discs, I'll just buy it.

Or more likely ask for it as a birthday present.

Pnoom, come on now, stop being dumb about Ulver.

You really should get Natten's Madrigal, I don't like heavy metal but I love that album.

stonebeard, you said you were listening to IDM somewhere else. I like the idea of IDM, but I cannot stand the endless Amen Break template, so I only listen to Aphex Twin and Venetian Snares. Do you know of anyone else?

Hahahaha, changing the date on my computer has let me keep the Ruckus MP3s past their supposed expiration date. I didn't think it would be that easy, I wish I had thought of that before I let it delete 30 gigs of the MP3s I had download earlier.
