Nickel Creek is a very good band. I have some of their stuff and
enjoy listening to them from time to time. Most of the popular
country these days is pure rubbish though. It's nothing but pop
music with cowboy hats.

I totallly agree....Gretchen Wilson?....blah!!!!!
At least it's "cleaner" than rap lyrics. Around the house, I keep jazz going constantly so that my kids will be exposed to really good music. My daughter also takes piano lessons so hopefully she'll be able to separate the good from bad.

Teen pop music really gets on my nerve. I can't stand it, it really makes me aggresive! I always get out of my house when my sister put on Avril Lavigne, or anything like that. Seriously.
She do the same when I put on some Can, or Mahavishnu Orchestra, though...

I don't think there is any "worst" genre, you can have good rap AND bad
rap, you can have good progressive AND bad progressive

I personnaly like some rap, punk, and country groups. I mostly can stand every style except dance/beat music. When I go out in clubs and this is what's playing, I just want to leave the building, but after I see some cute girls I tend to forget the crappy music that's playing

The only thing on here that as far as I know has been crap throughout it's life is emo. Rap used to be good, punk used to be alright (It's basically the same as emo today), country used to be great, But emo music has always been sh*t on toast made by whiny, uninspired idiots.
